The writing emphasizes story and intricate details over melodicism and falling on beat. These kinds of songs are not that common and are usually crafted more to tell a story with great detail and accuracy than to be a "good and catchy" song. Which is why I appreciate NIKI a lot because this road is not commonly walked on, especially by young, up-and-coming artists. What I love about Niki's latest songs, "Every Summer Time", "Split", and this one remind me of bittersweet cinematic experiences. Like "La La Land" or studio Ghibli movies like "From up on Poppy Hill". Truly Niki your tracks have become absolute masterpieces. We spent college years together for almost 2 years and when I graduated i had to go back to my hometown and that's when we have to breakup. Idk how many times we go back together, i dont count it anymore. And last week we broke up again after 6 months start talking again in long distance relationship. But everything just doesn't seem right anymore even if we were still together now.
