It's weird but this was my farewell song with Seattle. It was my last day and I wasn't 100% ready for my flight back home the next morning. I watched planes flying over to land at Seatac from the rooftop of UW's ATG building, just in time for a violet sunset. It was really blissful. I had this song playing on repeat because the lyrics just happened to resonate. It still feels like yesterday.. thank you Niki for such a beautiful and powerful song :")

There's just something about the hand choreography in the beginning and end that matches so well with the lyrics and the beat. I totally experienced the story in this song. It is so deep hitting my heart. That person who was with me all the time, enjoying the sweet life during the tough school year. But as NIKI said, the beautiful love story died too soon. It was so heart breaking when we suddenly just became a stranger in a night. I felt like I lost my pillars too. I followed Niki ever since 2015, when she was known as Nicole Zefanya, and I remember crying over this song bcs of the genius lyricism and the raw emotions. I remember vividly how I felt when I first heard this song a couple of years back. My understanding then was very shallow compared to my views now. I recall knowing that this song is for the love we can't have because of whatever reasons. But now, there are certain things that are sticking out to me more. Letting go is not just about dropping what no longer makes you happy, sometimes, it's also about still feeling the warmth of their hand holding onto yours when a cold breeze brush your skin but now, you have your gloves and scarf to keep you from freezing. Letting go is not just about seeking freedom from the shackles of the past, it's also about looking back at pictures and smiling at the moments taken and still have the courage to try and be there again because you realize now that a place is just a place and not a home of their memories. Love is a beautiful thing. No matter what. Having loved is better than to not love at all. I can’t believe that I’m slowly starting to heal. It scares me because once I’m fully healed that means I’ll be over it. And that’s sad. Because the 5 years of memories we made won’t mean anything anymore. Letting go, hurts. But it’s also healing. I don’t think I’ll ever forget this one guy I fell for about 5 years ago. I think I’ll always love him even if I’m over him. And that’s okay. I think our first love we will always remember. the first time i listened to this song, i just focused on the music and niki's vocals and i cried. the next time, i focused more on the lyrics and i cried again. this time i focused on the mv and yet again, i cried. i think this is one of the most well-rounded songs i've ever experienced. the entire album really truly felt like i was reading someone's heart laid bare, to the point where i reached the end of it and found myself so happy not just because of how upbeat take a chance with me is, but because i felt so much for the girl whose heart went through so much to move on and succeeded (at least from how i interpreted it). that being said, idk if you'll see this, but thank you for sharing your music to the world, niki.

Wow, everything about this is so well-done and well-executed! It’s always cool to see as an Asian artist, esp a fellow Indonesian, doing this type of thing because one would typically associate this particular sound or storytelling with a white (and preferably from the U.S.) artist. There’s a handful of other Indonesian acts with similar aesthetic (folk/acoustic vibes, performing in English) worth checking out: Stars & Rabbit, Oscar Lolang, Endah N Rhesa, Rendy Pandugo, Gabriela Fernandez and Adhitia Sofyan, among many others. Get to their stuff! There are so many great talents from Indonesia!
