The entire Godfather trilogy is 9 hours long, and the third movie didn't even come out until 1990. Definitely calling BS on that one.

I scratched my head when I heard that.According to people that knew him,Costa disappeared after the ozzy gig.Well before The Godfather 3 was released.
@daveyboyd784Ай бұрын
The majority of this interview sounded like BS to me. His manager and whoever got arrested for slapping foreheads, but the band didn't get arrested after Costa started swinging a pickaxe out in the middle of the audience whilst the drummer simultaneously started pumping buckshot into the ceiling of the venue. ( ...and this is only if we first accept that the owners of the venue would've allowed anyone covered in catsht to take the stage to begin with ) Later he gets into it with Lawless and they're both tossed down the back stairs of the Rainbow into the alley because they were just in the middle of a massive brawl and I guess Lawless just disappears into thin air because he's able to immediately stand up and casually shake hands with Allan Holdsworth. It sounded like he was rehashing some lies that he's probably told before and just making up the rest as he went along.

I just finished absolutely pissing myself listening to this :) I was a HUGE Wasp fan when I was in highschool (87 - 91) loved I Wanna Be Somebody and all that, but looking back, everything pre- The Headless Children has just faded into a dim memory. In a way I can't really see what I saw in a lot of it, I still remember it all & stuff, but Headless was just such a transcendent mega-evolution up the musical & artistic foodchain to me at the time, it kinda contrasted weirdly with, and maybe amplified my impression of that earlier stuff, i.e. pretty good LA rock, fucking stupid lyrics & themes, embarassing metaphors, gimmicky stage props. I don't mean any of that with any real weight, but THC just raised them to such a height to me at the time, it was hard not to see it / them pi$$ing all over their earlier stuff. I listened to Headless Children for the first time in a loooong long time recently, and I knew practically every lick, god I love that album. For some reason, I didn't keep up with them post THC, despite that album having such an impact. Well not _"some reason,"_ it's simpler than that: SOUNDGARDEN. To say I'm a mega-fan doesn't really do justice: I saw SG 11 times, despite living in New Zealand, cracked up an entire arena by cheering so loudly for Chris when he opened for Linkin Park, I've sussed out some stuff about them & their music that I haven't seen anyone else pick up on, ever (some of it funny, some of it honestly quite bizarre, pretty dark) - like for e.g. the fact that the lyrics to Spoonman contain a coded explanation of what the Beatles were actually on about in Come Together: the fact that they used to play w@nking games (soggy biscuit) in the dark sometimes during their stint in Germany. I'll give you a few hints: Spoonman (COME TOGETHER...with your hands) is one of two references to COME TOGETHER on the album, the other is Kickstand, which has a line: Kickstand, I got a saddle made of leather Kickstand, *_I GOT THE WORDS TO COME TOGETHER)_* And Soundgarden covered Come Together. And the Beatles put out the story (whether true or not) about them playing soggy / limp biscuit themselves...in their own (official) Beatles fanzines (different versions of the story exist, but same basic details). So there's that ;p _("Steal the rhythm"_ refers to saying things to try to put off your fellow w@nkers, by grossing them out or cracking them up or whatever. *_"Come on while I get off"_* is just funny. Winning a Grammy (best *_Metal_* song?! Er...) is hilarious. Yeah anyway, mega SG fan is an understatement: I'm not kidding when I say that, to me, Soundgarden is the high-water mark of human civilization. Not _"artistically"_ - I mean full stop. Speaking of which, I'll stop ;) One last thing: *_THIS FRANKENSTEIN OF FLESH, STICKS TOGETHER, FAT FROM DEATH_* Goddam what a line, and Christ can Blackie sing, EFF ME. Anyway, I'm off to watch The Big Lebowski three times in a row...as I do every morning ;p

Because those 2 groups have never displayed racism in a very open way.... If he did say it then that makes what he said an actual act of racism. There's a million way to insult someone and if you choose racism as the tool them it's fair to say the shoe fits.

@@DarrenWaters75 Why do you think there’s such hypersensitivity around the N WORD. Because it wounds. There are many ways to insult, but that’s clearly effective. At any rate, it’s one dude’s word against a lifetime of demonstrated hostility to racism. What kind of pathetic racist honors MLK by placing his speeches in songs?

@JimNedCreek I'm not deleting anything. You guys can cry until your heart's content. KZbin sometimes doesn't show comments if they're too disturbing or offensive, so keep that in mind. FYI, I'm the one who reached out to Niki to get some background on Don Costa. Niki is just telling his story.
