My lil sister flew to Australia about a year ago to see the Backstreet Boys live and had VIP tickets to hangout at a bar with Howie and AJ from the group and she'd actually ran into Howie on the street. She surprised me with the Madonna tickets. As for Boston, I'm from New York a 3 and a half hour drive away, I hope no one was rude to you there! Much love from the 🇺🇸 we aren't all bad lol 💯🫶

I will never forget going to the Drowned World Tour in DC and arriving at the arena before anyone else, in the morning. I wanted to see them come into the arena, hoping id have the same luck as when i attended wrestling shows and would see the wrestlers come into the building. I was the only one outside and I saw a black Towncar pull up, windows down and it was Niki and Donna. Donna waved to me. These two are spiritually SISTERS. They will never leave each others side. Madonna came in a black Mercedes, flanked by another car. The only reason i knew it was her was because the security guard told me. He let me into the arena and I could hear the sound check for Human Nature. it was surreal. Niki and Donna are legends to me and I will always hold out hope one day to hear Survival live.

Interesting chat, I’ll check out the podcast and listen to more. I did see an interesting documentary once on the Blonde Ambition dancers where they all got together 20 years or so after the tour. Some of them had had a hard time adjusting back to normal life after the tour. It was an interesting look at what it was actually like to be with Madonna and then how to cope when it all ends.

Niki Haris sang backup for Madonna from 1987 to 2001, appearing in the Who’s That Girl Tour in 1987, Blond Ambition Tour in 1990, The Girlie Show Tour in 1993, and The Drowned World Tour in 2001, as well as in the documentary Truth or Dare, and music videos “Vogue” and “Music”. Then in 2004, she was inexplicably replaced in Madonna’s Re-Invention Tour. At the time, Haris’ publicist claimed the backup singer had chosen to sit out the tour, because she wanted to “focus on her solo career and family”. But insiders said she wasn’t asked to participate, after allegedly making off-handed comments about Madonna to the press. In 2009, Haris kinda opened up about what happened, telling an interviewer that “Maybe there was some drama”, but that ultimately Madonna is “a gem” and she was grateful for having worked with her. “Of course, my ego was involved: ‘Oh, she don’t want me no more!’ But at the end of the day, she gave me the greatest gift”, Haris said. Unfortunately, these kind words about her former boss still didn’t land her a spot in the 2012 MDNA Tour. The moral of the story: Once you cross over to the bad side of Madonna, there’s no going back.

Big M fan. Big fan of these talented ladies. The 3 were magic together. But like most creative relationships they change over time. Without M N&D would not likely be know around the world. Sacrifice is not about comparing extremes, like super rich to poor. Within the context of the choices a person makes, what are they giving up to achieve a goal? Or to maintain the current status are they sacrificing what the goal can give them? People buy tickets to M. So 4 massages a day, private jet for her immediate team and family sound lush but that is what allows her to be healthy and on stage so fans can see her, and her backup singers/dancers. Other option is to not tour and have a home life where she can stay healthy enough to be there for her family and friends. Sleep in her bed, go to kids football matches. Her sacrifice so we can see her perform is to give up the latter, the more normal homelife. This is also a sacrifice for her kids. So N’s comparison to homeless people is not an option for M. She unknowingly says that M options are all the special care to be able to travel or be homeless. Research is clear on this point, people look at life options based on current situation. M is sacrificing a more normal life within the context of her status due to her hard work.
