I think lyrically it’s beautiful. In the lyrics he is comparing himself to masculine heroes “spiderman, batman” etc but he says “clearly I don’t see myself upon that list” - it questions views of masculinity within society and what is expected of him. And then lyrically it matches the story because all he wants is “someone to turn to and someone to kiss” - something just like everyone else has.
