Such a fun episode - even for a non-whisky drinker! Kevin I would have given you a dram from the special bottle!! Whisky Riffs = Birth of Child, Chris! Jenny (Chris’s Wife)

I’ve missed the show for a few weeks and needed to catch up tonight. Luckily you both said something to the effect of, “Drink what you like how you like…” I was enjoying a rather large pour of Glenfarclas 105. There were no subtle hints in that one. A great episode! I hope you can share some tastings of rare, smoky, Islay magnificence while you are in Scotland.

Hi Dennis! Thanks for the compliment. I have a few more episodes recorded from Scotland, but I didn't grab any Islay expressions. I've been in Cagnes-sur-Mer for the past week and I'm not sure what whiskies I'll find here in this part of France. Large pours of Glenfarclas 105 are a fond memory of mine now. I do miss a big, full whisky cabinet. ;) Cheers!

This was a fun episode, thanks for sharing the conversation! The Taketsuru 21 must have been quite the treat. The Yoichi NAS is one of my favorites, can't even imagine how good a 21 year old Nikka must be. The chocolate and cheese conversation was interesting as well. Dark chocolate does pair well with whisky, but I never thought to try cheese with whisky. What sorts of cheeses would you recommend pairing with a whisky?

Thanks, Chris! Any cheese is worth trying, but I enjoyed a Parmigiano Reggiano that we brought back from Italy in this episode: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnPRgIObpMp-pqc. Cheers!

From what I have researched most Japanese whiskey is sourced from Scottish distilleries ,transferred to Japan then finished from the Japanese company in various barrels.

Hi Dave, that's not the case with the top tier Japanese distilleries, like Nikka and Suntory. In fact, the Japanese whisky industry has been cracking down on imported spirits to make sure they aren't labeled as from Japan.
