This might be the most insigtful, meaningful Conan/Nikki segment for me ever. Inside the mind - and the psyche - of the comic. Killer stuff. I had the pleasure of being in a band that played on the old Late Night w.Conan show on NBC and I saw what a great, normal guy he was off-camera. He even had a sweet white Gibson SG custom leaning against his desk. Wish he'd have jumped in with us! (Kenny Chesney, No Shoes, No Shirt, winter 2003). Something about Nikki is so intriguing too. I would love to hear them on a date.

I love Nikki and think she is an incredible Comedian. I listen to her often and I’m surprised as to how sensitive and insecure she is. I think we all have insecurities…but I find she really struggles with hers. I do think it is was drives her but also think it’s what holds her back as well unfortunately. It must be tough to deliver those jokes in her Roasts if she is constantly worried about what they will think and also if she is the brunt of a joke. They are always hard hitting and she internalizes when they are directed at her. I think she is absolutely great at what she does!!

Listening to conan from 4:50 and on, you can tell this man has alot of wizdom and has the absolute capability of being a wize man that can give you serious life advice that is accurate. And he also can be a 10 year old with his kind of humour. This is why i love conan, he is super intelligent.

His kids have two unique parents, when they get older, I am curious what they share about his parenting skills. I've seen them in pap pics and the kids seem like kids. Not like Kardashian or JLo kids, but truly a traditional home life, but a slant on it. In a different neighborhood, with a dad that everyone knows. I have a feeling that Conan is more clean cut with parenting, as with Liza. Jerry Seinfeld had that too. The dad says, I am rich, I am famous, but I am the one who paid his dues. At home, I'm just ur dad. I don't find this funny, u won't be getting a Maserati for graduation, and u will do ur homework. Basic good dad stuff, but in a nicer house.

Conan’s first show taking over for David Letterman, the intro, he was walking out and at one point grabbed a rope like he was going to hang himself instead of going out on stage…it was one of the funniest moments I’ve ever seen in late night shows. I watched Late Night with David Letterman nearly every night. I got the feeling the show was in good hands.

Her comment about boys raping you if you are alone resonates with me. As a boy, I was essentially told the same thing. The idea that self control was possible or expected was never the lesson. Never be alone with a woman because even if you aren't able to take advantage of her people will assume you did. As an adult I can't believe this was the lesson. No wonder the world is fucked up.

Yeah it's a very weird dichotomy, the way that girls and boys are raised is very telling. Fathers get suspicious of every guy their daughter dates, yet in the same vein will high-five their son for nailing a girl in bed for the 1st time or excuse him for peeping into his hot neighbor's bedroom - maybe even join him in the voyeurism. Despite self-control, the cultural assumption of men taking advantage of women doesn't stem from a mothers telling daughter exaggerations, it stems from historical facts of men doing these things. The lesson isn't "hey take a chance to see if he's respectful" bc that has typically ended badly. The natural reaction is to be safe than sorry. This is why daughters get raised to be afraid of boys, bc society is still unwilling to give up enabling a "boys will be boys" culture where even well-meaning people like yourself have had the experience when you saw a guy taking advantage of a girl at a party or heard guys shamelessly bragging in a locker room, but didn't say or do anything to change the trajectory of that behavior. There's fear involved on both sides, men fear the backlash of betraying their "brotherhood" by calling out their brethren and women fear their safety. Complacency is not healthy for either side. Women would rather not wait and find out if the fear is valid, we've had enough experiences where we ignored our gut and decided to be nice to a male stranger, only for it to escalate into discomfort or danger. There's still not enough accountability and change in men's behavior, so until there is, then yes we will be cautious around guys and honestly, we should be unapologetic about that. If it makes the world fucked up, that's not bc of us. We're not the cause of it, we're simply reacting to a culture that has been volatile to us.

Maybe it's not that complicated. We seek what we fear because negative energy is still better than no energy. An aversion to stillness, boredom, left to ourselves... Unfortunately, I lost tons of respect for her when she made comments in support of Amber Heard during the trial. OF COURSE, people are entitled to their own opinion and that’s perfectly okay, but in order to make a valid argument, you need to AT LEAST be able to back it up with some thoughts. Nikki basically said that we should trust Amber because “she is a woman.” OBVIOUSLY we need to trust women more in this country as that is a huge problem in society, but there is literal proof that Amber is guilty and Nikki didn’t provide and thoughts on why Amber is correct other than her gender. I lost tons of respect and I usually don’t for celebrities 🤷🏻‍♂️
