It's very interesting, when she introduces herself she has a very bright tone to her voice, but once she starts singing she has a lot darker tone that's needed for jazz. This gets two thumps up from me.

***** Probably because she was a teen-aged jazz singer from Canada. Even with help from Quincy Jones and Phil Ramone, most jazz singers don't get much press (even if they get their first recording at the age of 13 - she was 16 when this was made). Now 21, Nikki is trying to break through with more pop material.

I checked out a cd from my local library entitiled "We All Love Ella." I found Nikki Yanofsky on the last track, number 15 - Airmail Special. She absolutely blew me away, and yet I'd never heard of her and came to KZbin to find her. Wow, is she talented. Next step, I've got to find out where I can hear her in person. You go, Nikki!

Fantastic singer, divine! Ten or 15 years ago I saw a young girl singer on TV who stunned the audience singing a jazz tune with impeccable taste and style.
