I tried the Essence mascara (green one) and it was one of the worst mascaras that I have ever tried in terms of smudging. I looked like a panda within hours! I have super oily skin, just like Nikkia. It just goes to show how different everyone’s skin is.

I’m very oily within 30 minutes and I blot several times a day AND I’m on tretinoin 🙄for reference. do you use eye shadow primer (not concealer)? Even if I don’t wear eyeshadow I still put a little bit on to keep the eyelid less oily and it helps the mascara not transfer.

God HG is on the list. It’s my favorite mascara of all time will never be without. I have weird brow bones that kinda droop and oily skin there too and mascara ALWAYS smudged there. The first ever mascara that hasn’t.

I tried the Essence green one but it transfers so much on my lower lash line! It does make my lashes look amazing, though. Out of all the mascaras I’ve tried NOTHING is smudge proof like the Loreal double extend beauty tubes mascara (the red and white). It is impossible for it to transfer. I was just looking for a mascara with one step only... but I think there is none.

@@theizzyresides8823 the essence was only the mascara, no primer. The loreal had one end (the white) as the other and the other end is the mascara. Also, I recently tried the Maybelline Sky Hight mascara and love it! It does not tansfer on me enter. Just another option to try out and see what works for you. This one is only 1 step, no primer, only the mascara.

Fave drug store mascara for me is and will always be L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black. It's SO GOOD! High end is Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme. Both of these have that same brush!!

I agree, that one from L'Oreal is one of my favorite mascaras! 😁 I think Mario (Kim Kardashian Wests makeup artist) recommended that (the L'Oréal one) mascara as one of his most favorite mascaras. Pretty shure it was him. It's amazing 😊

Personal preference but I don’t like either of these mascaras. The EL has a huge brush and a formula that gets everywhere. Hourglass Caution is the only one i can use now that I’m older and have more hooded eyes.

I’m also a VERY VERY oily skin type with small hooded eyes and have totally fallen in love with the Thrive Causemetics’ Liquid Lash Extension Mascara. I swear, it’s 💯 the BEST mascara I’ve ever used in my life. The brush is small and holds an amazing amount of product. My lashes look insanely long and the mascara doesn’t budge a bit. I bought the Caution one for my mum who has short lashes post chemo and it’s been amazing for her! And I just bought the Essence Volume Stylist 18 hour hold and the get big lashes volume curl and there’s zero smudging or flaking even in this crazy humid weather. Plus they’re $6 or less!

I just got the Essence lash princess. I have small hooded as well, and I love the HG caution, but my favorite is Benifit’s Bad gal bang. No transferring and no flakes and has a small brush.

I have the black & green Essence mascara. Although it's a great mascara, I wouldn't say it's budge proof. I have fairly long lashes and it does end up smudging under my eyebrows throughout the day. Nothing too bad though and it's not a deal breaker but it does definitely smudge a little bit.

The mascara from Essence smudges on me and by the end of the day I look like a raccoon. I like the Maybelline The colossal big shot too and also Lash sensational from them is very good. And of course Lash paradise by L'oreal is a very good mascara.

I have typical Asian lashes so short and straight (pointing downwards) and the only mascara that worked for me is the THRIVE CAUSEMETICS LIQUID LASH EXTENSION. * Doesn't flake * Doesn't clump * Doesn't transfer * Holds a curl literally ALL DAY (the longest time I've worn it was 18 hrs and it was perfect) * SO easy to remove (you can legit remove it with just warm water)

Totally agree on the MAC one. I bought it because I heard it was good for the lower lash line but I eventually realised it's fantastic on the upper lashes for very respectable length and volume without clumpiness. :)

THANK YOU for addressing the smudge factor and different eye types! There are 6 (!) women in my family with small, oily, hooded eyes and every time one of us finds their favorite mascara it gets discontinued (most of us generally circle through Covergirl and Maybelline mascaras). Thank you for listing both the cheaper end of the scale and ones like Tarte that are supposed to be better for you. I’m looking forward to trying these!

The essence works only if you apply a primer, the Milani on the purple bottle does the trick, also the voluminous superstar xfiber in the purple dual tip from L’Oréal would do the trick as well and there’s no smudging or flaking. You will love the results, I have very short and flat lashes.

I love the lash princess mascara, but I also have very oily skin and it does smudge on me. My suggestion to the ones with the same issue, try the Telescopic mascara on the outer lashes and use the essence one for the rest, it works for me.

I loooove Revitalash mascara, never had issues with this one. I believe this is the best one out there which suits my oily skin. Laura Geller Dramatic mascara is also good, if you want fake lashes affect.

Always giving great and solid tips. I used to have issues with mascaras, reason why I didn’t use it for years. Until I start to follow your channel and advices some years ago. I normally double my mascaras. I use the L’Oreal Baby Roll mascara first and then add a coat of the Maybelline Big Shot mascara straight away. I find they work really well together to add length and volume.

I have small deep set eyes and long eye lashes. Literally the only mascara that works for me is Dior Overcurl Iconic mascara. It is technically not advertised as waterproof but you can jump in a pool and it will stay. It also comes off easy peasy with most face washes. My only criteria for mascara is literally making my lashes darker so I am not sure if it will do anything else it advertises.

Clinique lash power has been my go to for many years. I have oily skin and this is the only one I could wear that didn’t smudge. I have tried the Mac one and it smudged on me. You hands down should try Clinique lash power.

Idk why Rimmel discontinued their Lycra Flex mascara 😩 it was awesome! Not waterproof but never smudged or flaked on me and gave the best volume and length

My fave Maybelline is The Falsies Push Up Drama. And I just discovered Eyeko Lash Alert, which is fiberized and does not budge just like It Cosmetics Superhero (another fave), but it has a curved stiff comb brush like Roller Lash(which transfers terribly on me). Another good one I found is BH cosmetics Stellarlash.

I also love the MAC one, not for my upper lashes I think the brush is too thin for my upper lashes, but it's a DREAM for the lower lashes and doesn't smudge. Highly, highly recommend for lower lashes! Also the Telescopic from L'oreal, it's great for both upper and lower but especially lower again. For my upper lashes I love the Voluminous Carbon Black by L'Oréal (as another lady mentioned in the comments) and I also recently fell in love with Total Temptation from Maybelline. I actually read reviews on that one just for curiosity and people seem to be divided on that one, many people said they didn't like the formula and it made their lashes clumpy. I love the Total Temptation, it gives so much volume as well as lenght. Awesome mascara IMO. I recently purchased the Snapscara (waterproof) from Maybelline after reading good reviews, excited to try it out...I'm always on the hunt for amazing mascaras since I almost never wear false lashes anymore 😁xx

I really enjoyed the Essence mascara, loved the brush, but it smudged on my eyes after a few hours and usually mascaras only do that during summer time or in the end of a loooong day because my lids are a bit oily.

Waterproof mascaras dont work with oily lids, because they are removed by ta-da : oil! So try eg clinique mascara, that's removed with 38 degree water.

The MAC does smudge on me ! But then a lot of mascara's do and I think it is because of menopauze, since I never had that problem earlier. I do like the caution from hourglass and the volume mascara from Chanel is super !

I have small, hooded, deepest eyes with oily lids and straight lashes. Hourglass is my HG but I feel like it's a finicky product and can be difficult to work with in several ways. I don't recommend it to people who aren't very experienced with mascara. The essence one is one of the worst for transferring onto my brow bone. I also find it to be a super super wet formula. Even the waterproof one transfers, but is super hard to get off. It burns for me too, but not all essence mascaras do
