Nice job! My tip: anytime I remove parts, I try to label them - grease pencil or painters tape - on the brackets and frame. It’s amazing how a cup of bolts becomes so confusing when you need to reassemble. Ex. Taking off bumper and covers when converting HID to LED headlights on 2007 Prius. So many different types and sizes of clips and bolts 😅 Keep up the good work.

Yep! The day will come when the seats go back in. I would take pictures of everything before you remove them and make an "album" so you can find them later. I like sorting the parts into zip lock bags so the bolts and the parts are together and then label the baggie. Then pack all the baggies together in a labeled box and store in closet or garage where the seats would go, likely mom and dad's garage, lol. It is easy to remove parts, but harder to remember later how they go back together.

Just an added bonus tip for all of you doing this like Miss Nikki.....Get ziploc sandwich bags...sticky notes...a sharpie and painters tape and right the bolts ans screws removed down. So Nikki did the upper section of her rear passenger side seat First which was two bolts.......So first bag is marked with sticky inside bag after writing on said sticky (Passenger side upper seat bolts but folded down) in baggie with the two bolts. If it is a lower bracket under drivers side rear.....Mark it down put both(sticky/bolt or screw) in the baggie and tape to that bracket. Mark and bag all hardware(SCrews/bolts hardware and their location!!!!!) Big help in the long run!!!!!!!!! Also take painters tape(1" width) directly onto brackets.....seats tops or bottoms and Mark them(ex.passenger side upper seat back)write their location. When you put it back together in three years....if you do.......it will be a big help. Sounds aaaaaahhhh Duh but it will help.

Or in less than a year because your state requires yearly inspection that requires all factory seatbelts be installed and operable. In my case I don't need the actual seat, but the seatbelt is attached to that first seat back. 🤦

Hey Nikki! I decided to come back and see what the first video you posted was, I was surprised to see that your first video may have been the first one I watched! Back when I was just getting interested in car-camping and was trying to find a way to make it work with my car. (2014 Ford Focus SE) Here I am, about a year later, with the back seats taken out and a custom bed built, prepping for my first solo (besides my pup ofc!) camp in my stealth camper ❤ So excited to start posting videos. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all! Safe travels from me and my boys to you and yours!

Thanks for this resource! I have a question. I was envisioning taking out the big seat and keeping the little backseat for car-safe passengers and for myself. But it looks like the biggest space to gain is removing the whole back bench. Am I right? If that’s true, maybe I should rethink taking out my front passenger seat, and just remove the whole back bench for the open space I crave. HMMM!
@NikkiDelventhal
@NikkiDelventhal 3 жыл бұрын
That’s totally possible and great idea. My mattress is way bigger than needed and you could have it just on the one side!
@NikkiDelventhal
@NikkiDelventhal 3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t read the rest of your comment before posting it only showed me the first half- you can look into removing just the one big back seat. And leave the small. I like the idea of having the whole back seat out in case I ever have a passenger in the front which does happen at times. So that’s something to think about - whatever is more practical for your needs and lifestyle!

for removing the bottom of the back seat, I found out that you could also fold the back of the seat and where the back and bottom meet, on both sides there is a small hook that you press down on and unhook. then you gently push the forward where the clamp you're using the screwdriver is and lift. putting it back is easy to just hook the back ends before pushing the bottom back and downward. Thanks

Hello! Did you do a video about how to use the AC while sleeping without the engine running all time? I can’t find it if so. Also, is this function available with all years (editions) of this car? Thank you!
@marciaewell2661
@marciaewell2661 Жыл бұрын
The hybrid battery is limited on it's capacity by the computer Just set the AC with a low fan setting and a not real cold temperature and keep the car running all night. The motor will come on and off when the computer sees it is time to charge the battery. If you run the AC with super low temp and high fan setting, then the motor will be on more as it uses more energy to be able to run the fan and keep the vehicle super cold. So less is more if you want to run AC or heat all night and not be burning a bunch of gas and minimize the motor running all the time.

BIG PIECE OF ADVICE FOR VIEWERS; i highly recommend that you NEVER use a power tool at first. if that bolt is super tight, you are going to seriously f*** up your wrist when you pull the trigger. take it from me. get it loose with a socket wrench first if at all possible. once its loose, by all means use the power tool. if you insist on just going with the power tool first, just assume it is hella tight and try to brace the drill very very securely using both hands and your body.

Great video. Thanks. One piece of advice for anyone with long hair: always put your hair up! I worked with tools for years and never once had an issue and then ONE DAY, the drill sucked my hair into and through the back of the drill and around the neck. I panicked and tried to reverse. I lost a huge chunk of hair and was lucky that was all the damage I sustained. I always put my hair up now. I even have hair ties stored around my drill handle just so I don’t ever forget again
