I am usually a silent watcher but I have been saving money to buy a travel trailer. I am just TERRIFIED!!!! I really battle with depression, I am a Army vet so I am used to moving around but it still scares me. Sorry for the long message but I just feel you really care! Give Camp a 19:12 big hug for me! ❤️🐾

Thanks for breaking the silence! It’s normal to be scared, we all experience that! What helped for me was being smart about my finances so I knew if I really wanted I could always go back and remembering nothing needs to be permanent :-)

I have battled with depression since my baby sister took her own life. You have to work through it steadily and ask for help when you need. The van life/nomad family is amazing and will be there if you need them. Make a plan focus on your well-being and remember overall the world is a safe place with far more love than hate. Move away from the hate towards the love and the tranquility that is a life of travel. Wishing you great success with your endeavours.

@Kristenpoe4967 Something that helps me battle with my own depression is making the effort to look for people like me, with the same interests, in my area. By joining local activity groups that have my interests and making the effort to speak to others. Some really nice conversations and friendships come out and that is exactly what I need. All the best!!

Hi Kristen, you can do this. Have you maybe considered taking a pet with you on the road? It might be a helpful companion. And against the general feeling of being terrified. Maybe thinking up real life scenarios might help like gathering helpful online sources for the road. Where can wash my clothes? How do I keep myself safe? How can I meet people on the road? Once you have a lot of information collected you might see how it is only you shaping the experience and not something vague as chance. I'm rooting for you. Greetings from Germany

My father pretty much ate salami and drank wine every day of his life and lived until he was 92. I would bet anything that you don't make it to 92. The odds are against you. Not being mean, just that it is statistically unlikely. life is a crap shoot. Exercise and eating salads is not a guarantee of anything. DNA and good luck are way more important. Nobody in my family ever dies from cancer going as far back as the great grandfather generation. Wine drinkers and meat eaters, everyone of my relatives. Mostly all lived into their 90s, even the ones that fought in WW1 and WW2 made it.

Join the 'Broken Toe Club'. I don't know what hurts most, having to find the least expensive treatment or the physical pain. In the UK a quick visit to the hospital, a couple of xrays, a plaster cast around the foot and ankle, a three week follow up and then the final check and removal of the cast - price - nothing. The NHS treated me. Love the tranquillity by the lake - so mentally relaxing.

Here in the UK treatment for a broken toe would be free BUT with the NHS stretched to breaking point you would have to wait in A&E. Average waiting times at my local hospital are claimed to be 90 mins but at busy times you could be waiting hours. Private health insurance averages around £85 a month for UK wide coverage, for someone your age it would be around £60 per month ($880 per year).

@simonagree4070 they're also taxed way higher in the UK than the US. The UK absolutely does not have better health care than the US. That is an absolute lie. Literally all the best pharmaceutical companies operate out of the US. The only difference is the UK government steals more of their citizens money to pay for theirs. So they're essentially pre paying upfront for their own health care and their neighbors. I absolutely don't want that in the US. Your health is your business not mine. It's not my job to pay for it.

Glad to made it. I watch a KZbinr who rescues folks who take these sprinters to places like this. Get stuck, slide off, and top heavy so he's busy.

Late in the video when you were sitting in front of the lake drinking your coffee and you talked about peace and quiet, it immediately brought to mind the Japanese practice of “forest bathing,” (shinrin-yoku.)

Thanks for sharing! Beautiful scenery :) I also recently broke my toe and I left with the same shoe as you but they made me see a podiatrist. I had an aligned fracture all the way through and was told not to put even the slightest weight on it. In fact i was on crutches and a big boot for five weeks and am now three weeks post boot and crutches but am supposed to take it easy for at least another week. Again, every fracture is different but take it easy even if it’s hard. I am an avid hiker, backpacker, climber and these weeks were very hard for me. So I hear you! But when i went back to the podiatrist she couldn’t even see the fracture anymore because the rest worked wonders. Anywho, every story is different and just hope you will be skipping to waterfalls very soon 😊

My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis. When she was little she got a make a wish trip to Disneyworld, seaworld and Universal Studios. A couple days before the trip I hurt my foot and went to the doctor. X-rays but had to wait for them to be read. I got a call a couple days later to tell me my foot was broken and I had to come in for a walking boot. I was on the ferry to the Disneyworld gate and told them that might be difficult to get back to Tennessee for that. She asked me how I was walking and I told her slow and carefully. She laughed and said to enjoy but be careful.

Oh no! Hope your toe feels better soon. Thanks for the info about the doctor's visit living on the road. Its so hard getting sick or injured cost getting higher and higher. That's a rough road but you made it. The campsite is so gorgeous. You guys just loving it. Awesome! Stay safe.

I know I’m probably in the minority on this but loved your video/adventures before all staged “B-Roll” and drone footage. It’s just to unrealistic, knowing you’re setting up cameras and going back to get them each time, after who knows how many takes. Love when you just film your (and Camper’s) actual adventures real-time. Point and shoot, you’re one of the best! Also, so very sorry about your toe. Heal quickly ❤!

I’m an RN (retired). I worked in healthcare for 40 years. First of all we in the USA have the best and most advanced healthcare in world. We have a real problem with distribution and cost with health care in this country. There are many reasons for this. It’s over regulated which raises the cost. There needs to be an overhaul nationwide in tort law concerning malpractice. CEOs of insurance companies do not need to be getting 7 to 8 figure bonuses for the profitability of their companies. The answer is NOT socialized health care. It’s not free health care. It’s paid for by much higher taxes in countries that have this type of coverage and elective or non emergent care is rationed. Another words you wait until it’s your turn to receive care. I like that you shop around for care. That’s smart. You should send the bill to your health care provider so that it can possibly be applied to your deductible. When it comes to health care there is no free lunch. It comes out of our pocket one way or another. I’m retired and on Medicare. It’s not free. I pay a monthly premium and I paid Medicare tax all my working life. If someone from Canada or the UK comes on here and say they have free healthcare, it’s not!

Certainly this episode was likely a week ago, or more. I suggest that you head to the June Lake area of California highway 395, eastern Sierra. Beautiful this time of year. Possible snow above 8000 feet this weekend. Out of Lee Vinning, head up to Tioga pass, camp at Saddlebag, Junction, or Ellery. Scenery will be fantastic if it gets a light snow.
