Obviously, the real reason it's there is to catch up anyone who didn't watch that show, but in full context it comes off as her being pointlessly cruel and pedantic.

Bo-Katan really drove that point home, but it's his religion and like that kid in the opening of this season, Mando was probably indoctrinated into it. He already took off his helmet for Grogu, so we'll see what happens after he gets to Mandalore.

What I love about Din is he's so nonchalant about the dangers even with the absence of facial expressions. It just feels reassuring. Also, Grogu giggling, finding entertainment in the space fights is just so refreshing. I just love The Mandalorian, thanks to these two.

According to Feloni and Favreau (I saw the interview where they said if). Grogu was training with Luke for 2 years before he returns to Din in Book of Boba Fett! Which actually makes events make more sense with Grogu returning to Din.

NGL but Andor and The Mandalorian are both great shows in different ways. Andor's story was so emotional and gritty on so many levels that were driven by amazing writing and acting. I think both are great. Neither one for me is better than the other. The Mandalorian is classic Star Wars storytelling that utilizes a lot of nostalgia and new characters with a good story. This episode was a little lackluster but it's setting up the season, so I'll allow it lol.

i thought the opening scene was a flashback of din being sworn in to the creed, and since he didnt finish his oath to never remove his helmet he technically didnt break it. i figured that would come up later in the show but i was wrong

One of these days Din’s gonna meet someone that actually dspeaks huteze and it’s gonna be hilarious. But this episode was cool! So much lor and so much fun! Din was giving off major bad ass dad in a minor existential crisis energy this episode. I loved the dad jokes and him teaching Grogu things. Also space whales! Grogu climbing into his lap while he slept was adorable! And I laughed so hard when he hugged the Anzelans. He’s just so friendly! And eager to learn too! I felt bad for Bo. She’s in a rough spot. Though I think what she said to Din was super important and foreshadows his journey this season. Also is no one going to acknowledge that this was the first time Din used his own name when addressing someone? He usually just lets people call him Mando. I’m also not convinced she knew his name though he probably told her at some point. Oh and we can’t forget the space chase and Grogu just giggling and loving life.

It’s been just over 2 years since the last season and it was worth the wait because DIN IS BACK BABY!!! I love that we are learning more about Mandalorian society, how even though they have been around since before the Jedi they are also incredibly fragmented, and also kind of fickle. They should’ve followed Bo-Katan! She is not only of royal blood but also the best person to lead her people. But unfortunately too many Mandalorians follow different and almost outdated ways. The Children Of The Watch are far too conservative and traditional to look past removing their helmets, no matter the circumstances. For God’s sake he just saved his people from a giant space crocodile and they still shun him. Meanwhile the “regular” Mandalorians are so attached to the myth of a single legendary weapon that even though they know Bo is a worthy leader they still only follow the wielder of the Darksaber. Honestly I think Din should either expand his own clan beyond just him and Grogu or just take up Greef Karga’s offer and be the new marshal of Navarro. On a brighter note, seeing the Purgill aka hyperspace whales was awesome, and Grogu hugging the little droid smith was SOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUTE!!!

Rebels took place 5 BBY to 0 BBY, Rogue One to A New Hope. Mando takes place years after Return of the Jedi. If Hondo isn't dead, he's probably locked up again. He is not as tenacious as Cad Bane so I don't think he's still around.

Those massive whale like creatures grogu was watching in hyper are purrgil. We first saw them in rebels. They are living space creatures that live off cloisonné-36 (raw hyper drive fuel )which they can metabolize to use to enter hyperspace. They are considered dangerous nusanes to spacers as the cause collisions in hyperspace destroying ships.

Koska Reeves witnessed Din Jarin attempt to just give it to Bo-Katan. apparently she has now left Bo-Katan too. If Bo-Katan were to show up with the Dark Sabre and Din Jarin is still alive, there would be whispers of staged honourless victory and she would forever be thought of as a pretender. I don’t think she can ever take it and hope to be recognized without also killing Din Jarin in combat.

You can see the conflict within her. On one hand she doesn't want to be a cultist and believe in bunk superstitions. Other the hand the last time she ignored them she lost everything. Even she is unsure of her beliefs and how to move forward. Her people saw this indecisiveness and abandoned her. This is the makings of a good character journey this season. Lots of opportunity for twists and turns.

The easiest solution would be for Din Jarin to accept his role as leader. Then he and Bo-Katan, could have a child for the future of Mandalor. The child then should have a birth right to the dark saber, thereby, Bo-Katan would have custody of the saber, as she raised their child to be ruler. Or, they could just fight.

I heard a rumor Grogu is the Yoda's planet not his name and whoever looked into his mind back when mistakenly thought his name was Grogu when he was thinking about home. When Greef blew off the name when Din told him I took it as a hint that the rumor might be true. His actual name per the rumor is Yannel (sp?).

I liked the opening fight, not least because it illustrates a larger problem in the greater Mandalorian culture. The Children of the Watch were all attacking the crocoturtle but there wasn't very much coordination between them. They're great one-on-one, but they can't really unite to deal with an overwhelming opponent. Kinda like how Bo-Katan was grumbling about the splinter groups.

Favreau did say that Grogu was with Luke for a couple of years before going back to Mando. Several have mentioned that Luke leaving his training with Yoda due to his attachment to his friends on Bespin and now Grogu leaving his "re-training" with Luke (originally trained at the Jedi temple on Coruscant) will juxtapose how Luke will fall back into the ways that caused the Jedi order to fall away from their roots and fail while Grogu will benefit from his relationship with Mando and his beliefs of loyalty, honor, etc. and eventually restore a new & better order for centuries to come. Personally, I was intrigued to see the Purgill in hyperspace. Anyone else up for seeing Ezra, Ahsoka, Sabine & Thrawn in live action? If Ahsoka is fated to make a heroic sacrifice to end her character arc (considering Luke's already canonized self-implosion) I'd hope it would be in a series like that in the Outer Rim or beyond. Perhaps, in a non-Jedi capacity or exploring new facets of Force lore laying the groundwork for something/anything to get the franchise away from all things Palpatine. What do you think?

I guess to compensate for the show with Cara Dune's "Out-Excuse" from the series for her actress, we're getting IG-11 back!!!! (albeit a sidenote question that I am bit curious about though is if IG-11 does get restored, how exactly is IG-11 going to fit inside Mando's starfighter??? {Unless there's like a storage trailer he can attach on} Because at least we somewhat do know from the S3 trailer that R5-D4 might be going with Mando too since he was in his ship's droid port). Also, I'm not gonna lie: did anyone else possibly feel a slight "antagonist vibe" off of Bo at that end scene???
