Hyperspace is an alternate dimension that can only be reached/travelled through when traveling at a minimum of the speed of light. Usually faster. The galaxy is a big place, and you’ll often spend a few hours, if not several days traveling from place to place, in hyperspace. Larger ships will spend days in hyperspace, since they have living quarters, food, bathrooms, etc. Jedi, like Luke, were able to travel for days in their smaller craft by going into a meditative trace, suspending their body’s needs, so they could get around faster than anyone else. Mando could probably spend a few hours at a time, and even get his 8 hours, in one go, but will have to make several stops. Especially now that he doesn’t have the Razor Crest.

On a galactic scale, the speed of light is kinda slow, in the star wars universe "lightspeed" seems to be a colloquialism for travelling through Hyperspace, though hyperdrives do briefly propel a ship to the speed of light, as entering Hyperspace can only be achieved if an object is experiencing molecular displacement, which can be caused by reaching the speed of light. Hyperspace is a parallel dimension, sort of a shadow of the real universe, where distances between corresponding real space co-ordinates are far shorter, meaning a small distance in Hyperspace is a larger distance in real space, but travelling from one end of the galaxy to the other would still take days.
