Not only did Alisha Weir deliver her lines with the emotional inflections that you only really see with adults, she had to do them in an accent that is not her own. If this wasn't in the horror genre she would probably have been up for an Oscar nomination.
@MissLemonTeaАй бұрын
For an Irish it is not hard to do the American accent, maybe an American could never do an Irish accent 😂. I have seen movies with Americans "trying" to do another accent and failing badly
@ultmotiveАй бұрын
@MissLemonTea it depends on the American accent. They can be pretty varied. Sure it might be easy to do the stereotypical Cali girl accent, or even a texas drawl. But there are some accents even other Americans have trouble with like Cajun or northern states like Maine. I've seen plenty of people from the mainland USA completely fail at a Hawaiian creole accent, which is where I'm from

This film began life in the writers' room as a potential remake of "Dracula's Daughter". They ended up diverging from it wildly (for the better, I think), but there are little breadcrumbs here and there that Lazar is Dracula. Abigail's fixation on the theme from "Swan Lake" for her ballet is adapted from that theme being in the opening credits of the 1931 "Dracula". The actress who played Abigail was astounding. Before this, she was pretty much only in the musical "Matilda". She did a lot of her own stunts, too -- the scene where she's dancing on the banister was done entirely by her!
