@W Yes he did. His flashbacks in Season 1 show his Dad being a uberdouche. They aren't financially well off (Joyce and Jonathan both work) and he gets bullied for being a nerd at school. D&D with his friends was his escape and friend time so not having that with the changes of puberty, friend dynamics changing (girlfriends being added to "the group"), and the trauma of not only being upside-downed, but then being an alien slug carrier, possessed by the shadow monster, being forced to spy, and having a heat-treated exorcism performed made for a pretty shitty childhood.

The main reason to why Will is kinda childish and wants to do kid type things is because he kinda never had a childhood. He was kidnapped by a monster, was possessed by the monster etc, its actully kinda sad

Dutch Van der linde I don’t know if it’s that he “never” had a childhood. He wasn’t kidnapped/possessed for that much time. He had a good childhood before that, and even while he was kidnapped and possessed, the other kids didn’t have a normal childhood either, so it’s not really all that different for him in terms of how much time he had a good childhood for. What I do think it is, is that Will just went through a higher level of trauma than any of the other boys, and he wants to escape from the memory of it by getting back to the good times he had before, to feel a sense of normalcy again. He DID have a good childhood and he wants to get back to it.

I always thought the reason Will wanted to play D&D and other stuff was because that was a time when he was happy and normal and safe. With old feelings of the upside down and the mindflayer coming back, it scares him. And being with his friends and playing helps him be in control and trying to cope.

Will just wanted to play his favorite game with his friends. He missed out on half his childhood because he was stuck in the Upside Down. Now he’s back, and no one wants to play anymore. That made the moment he destroyed Castle Byers even more heart hurting. Can’t wait till you guys get to Episode Eight!😁😭

LOL I really enjoyed this episode because it was bonkers. I was so confused when I saw Billy and Heather. That scene with Mike and Will was so intense, I really felt for Will this whole episode. I completely understand why Joyce wants to move. Her son barely survived his childhood and she just lost Bob. It's kind of why I was annoyed at Hopper this season because it hasn't even been a year and Joyce was clearly still sad about Bob's death while still being worried about her son.

There's a lot of history about Russian and American spies during the Cold War that is very interesting. There were plenty of ways for them to be right out in the open and no one would ever know they were spies. They were good at what they did (both sides). And Russian spies was a recurring theme in a lot of stuff in the 80's. If you haven't watched the FX show The Americans (6 seasons, 2013-2018), I highly recommend it. It's dramatized fiction, but completely based in the reality of the Cold War era (especially the 80's) and the espionage that occurred during that time.

Hey Nikki and Stephen! This video was totally awesome! The monster is turning out to be a complete gnarl-fest! But the gang is chill enough to figure it out, and save the day! They are going to walk up to that mondo monster and say "Hey dude! Let's party!" hehe Great bits of wisdom for this video! Great work on the editing, not showing some of the grosser stuff the boys were doing... even if it did smell like doritos... or worse... hehe! We got the idea. A few things: Blobbing away is what I was thinking when Nikki said it! That makes it official! People who work in the same ice cream parlor are called 'scoop-mates' and when you call out to your scoop-mate you say "Scoops Ahoy!!" (like a ship-mate, or chip-mate...) I like the way they reference a few 80's classic movies... the remake of the Blob in '88, a little bit of Fast Times, Red Dawn, Revenge of the Stepford Wives (OK, not so classic...) and others! 11 and Billy are my favorite, they really held this season, I like Steve too. Billy isn’t a jerk, he can’t control it. He acts the way he does is because of his dad, you’ll see more. Will just wanted to spend time with his friends, I mean that’s not a bad thing...I don’t like how Max influenced her to break up, Mike was only doing what hopper asked. You don’t have to take the screen off just edit it like you do.
