This is so beautiful. I am adopted...I am not sure if Red is her biological father or not, but he has that protective, fatherly love for Liz that comes through in all that he does and the way he looks at her. James Spader is a fantastic actor, his facial expressions and the way his eyes show every facet of his characters inner turmoil and triumphs...he's one of a kind. Anyone notice Red and Liz look physically similar facially/in the face. Why would the show have to actors look somewhat similar- James Spader and Megan Boone- together if the bio father-daughter story possibility of Red and Liz didn't pan out?

Given all that's transpired on the show, more specifically the golden rule about Red never lying to Lizzie, to make them biologically connected would be a disservice to the characters. Having said that, the question of whether he is or isn't her father has been answered on more than one occasion.

Monique Martin TV Spoilers ahead: My opinion - her father The answer isn't verbally said, it's explained through action/emotion. Red only gets really emotional when confronted painfully by Lizzie or sees her emotional hurt and seeks to comfort her. She is the core of his world and he would do away with anyone trying to hurt her and he has. When Red goes into poetic metaphors like The Farmer Story in the Stewmaker or his story about Lizzie's Father to Tom that he'll always watching out for her, he wasn't talking about Liz's adopted father. In the latest ep The Luther Conclusion, Red knew exactly how to handle Lizzie's dream state coma process like he had done it before... Which was also mentioned in the same episode, Lizzie had had dream treatment before as a child.

LOL This question has been asked and answered so many times. Red IS NOT Lizzie's father. Why so many people continue clinging to the notion that he is escapes me as several producers from the show and most notably Megan have spoken ad nauseam on this issue. I take my cues from the performances first and foremost, and in no capacity is James's interpretation of the character or his delivery consistent with that of a father. I could cite so many instances, but that would take forever (LMAO). Kate and Red met while both were in the service. I speculate she was a medic at the time. Hopefully, their back story will be expounded on in the upcoming season, presuming that she isn't killed off despite truly crossing the line by simulating Lizzie's death. Her apology to Red was absolute s***, and once again it's another example of a secondary character having the red carpet rolled out for him while everyone else is destroyed in the meantime - Red and Dembe being the exceptions. Leonard was also a Cabal operative and is friends with Red. Like Dembe, Baz has been with Red from practically the beginning.

+Jade Montana Thank you so much! The episode in which Lizzie wears the red dress, and she and Red go undercover is from season 1 - more specifically, the 14th episode "Madeline Pratt". In the first Anslo Garrick installment, episode 9 from season 1, we see him watch his dear friend and confidant Luli get killed. Dembe was in a similar position, but thank heavens James intervened and wouldn't stand for TPTB's original idea to kill him. I can't envision Red without Dembe.

Jade Montana I love discussing the show and connecting with other fans, so please feel free to write anytime about absolutely anything. :) The episode in which Red walks through his former home and reminisces about his daughter is Season 1, Episode 7 - "Frederick Barnes". Robert Sean Leonard was the guest star, and as usual it was so great to see him. And yes, that was the first occasion in which we're introduced to his real family. Other glimpses afford include 1x16 - "Mako Tanida", more specifically a "Swan Lake" production he organizes every year in order to honor her memory, early episodes of season 2 in which we finally see his wife Carla/Naomi (portrayed by Mary Louise Parker). By the end of that stint, we learn further that their daughter is unaccounted for in lieu of the Marshals Service losing contact seven years (now, closing in on 9 years) prior. As for why he became an Intelligence Officer instead of pursuing a career at sea which he originally aspired for, ultimately I attribute that to financial security. Yes, he would then lose more time to be at home with his family, but at least he would be able to give them a comfortable life. And he had until the fire in which his decision to spare an innocent child (Lizzie) from the consequences of acts committed by her parents - both of whom were among the Cabal's "adversaries" - cost him everything.

Jade Montana Season 1 cohesively was just the better product. The second season was okay, but again it's a matter of not viewing them as connected and instead considering them separately as opposed to points on a line ultimately leading to one destination. It was all over the place, but in between there are some solid episodes. Without hesitation, I recommend both Luther Braxton installments (2x09 and 2x10), Leonard Caul (2x19), and Tom Connolly (2x22). Thank you so much! I don't find creating videos to be difficult so long as it's something that you're really passionate about and want to commit to it. I only started vidding less than a couple years ago, and what I enjoy as well as love the most about it is that you never stop learning. There are always new parameters to explore, different stories to tell. The main thing is understanding what message regarding either an individual character, relationship, or group you want to convey and then organizing the best combination of footage - and music - that allow you to accomplish that. Sometimes, it's an issue with the music. In certain countries, a video can't be properly accessed because of that. Most recently, and this is in regards to my 3x18 presentation, the episode footage itself contributed to a block which in addition to being entirely new to me is just....bizarre to be honest. (LOL) Funny thing is that not even the administrators can provide an explanation as to why.

Jade Montana Definitely, I recommend purchasing the DVDs. By far, the first season is the best not that the second season wasn't solid. Ultimately, the sophomore season has to be perceived with each episode being separate rather than connected or individual components that form a puzzle. The years Red spent off the grid haven't been expounded on yet, but it's fairly easy to conclude that similar to Lizzie in the first half of s3 he was also using the time to both continue his recovery from injuries sustained in the fire (the very one he saved Lizzie from which ultimately cost him everything that he loved and held dear) and essentially start over since he was also blamed for acts he didn't commit.
