A lot of this song is a "greatest hits" taken from the best of A7X and expertly played and composed. It still takes talent, but it is also much different to starting with a blank canvas with nothing else. I'm sure Nik himself would agree.

This is actually fucking amazing! You captured the early A7X vibes here really well, especially the characteristics of each album. I think it would fit well on a City of Evil-style album (the chorus and overall vibes fit into this era i think) The only critcism I have is the drum programming not really fitting the style of The Rev, but that would be quite difficult to achieve and probably isn't worth the time.

I am a massive a7x fan and had to honestly really push myself to appreciate the new song. Like, let's not kid ourselves, we all listened to Nobody a million times for it to grow on us, whereas I'm sure everyone was floored when the first notes of Syns's solo on nightmare hit. I will always support them going in different directions, but 2003-2013 A7X is peak music for me.

I love everything Avenged has ever put out (yes I know I'm a bit of a fanboy, just deal with it), so I can't say this is better than anything they themselves have done in recent years, but this whole song is a pretty accurate depiction of their overall sound throughout their career, so I definitely approve of this.

Their status as one of the biggest modern metal bands going today has proven how pivotal that choice was

This is insane man, holy shit, I was inspired to pick up and learn guitar from a young age after hearing City of Evil in school and listening to this put a smile on my face, it was like hearing them for the first time again, sad to see the direction theyve gone after Hail to the king but excited to see what comes up next
