The cover pic suggested a hydrogen engine, meaning not a fuel cell or electric. I doubt very much that Nikola in their difficult financial situation are in a position to R&D a hydrogen engine. So this is just click bait.

It's about more than just setting goals. It's about following through on our commitments. This includes not only the production and sale of our hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks but also the start of returns for our battery electric trucks to customers. All trucks wholesaled to Nikola dealers are destined for end customers. The three remaining hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks in finished goods inventory at the end of the quarter have already been allocated and will be delivered in early April.

FCEV is the best option for long-haul trucking. Nikola will also be selling the fuel. They will have a constant cash flow.

Problems with EV trucks: 1.) Batteries degrade and they lose capacity and range, 2.) Batteries are heavy which reduces the maximum load, 3.) Batteries have major range issues in cold weather. 4.) Batteries take many hours to charge. FCEV has none of these problems.
