@@codeen66 Jimmy is stealing millions from the Heat by not fulfilling his contact, and he has (at best) condoned half-assed in season participation for 2 seasons now. More recently, he refused to play with any intensity his last two games, even further lowering the bar for in season play. Simply put, his thinly veiled threat/ultimatum is "trade me to Phoenix or I run your franchise into the ground." This is absolutely a hostage situation, which is why we had to suspend Jimmy - just to keep his influence as far away as possible.

This is not true at all. Kawhi got a max because he plays for the richest owner in all of sports. The owner's net worth is 125.7 billion. So obviously, he can more than afford the luxury taxes, and the Clippers needed to have and keep a couple of star players for their fan base and because they were moving into a new arena. Lastly, when healthy, Kawhi is a better individual player than Jimmy. Players are only paid their salaries for the regular season. Salaries don't extend into the playoffs and there's not one player in sports HISTORY who's not gotten a big contract when they play well in the regular season because they've don't play well in the playoffs and/or haven't won a championship. 🙄

Riley gave him a max-extension extension after the 2021 season, and Jimmy most certainly wasn't going to take a pay cut for this season, which is the first year of that extension. Plus, the Heat are way over the salary cap, and still would still be even if Jimmy was making less money this year. This is Pat Riley fault because he knew this situation was coming and that he wouldn't want to give Jimmy a new extension, even for less money. Philly wanted to trade for Jimmy before the season and had enough cap space to just absorb Jimmy's entire salary without sending enough players back to Miami, only draft picks, which would've given the Heat more cap flexibility this season and beyond But Riley turned the trade down because he didn’t want to trade Jimmy, even though he knew Jimmy wanted a new max-extension, and he didn’t want give it to him and how Jimmy acts out when he doesn't get the contact he wants
