"I want it to last the rest of lives." Nikolas Cassadine. I think that Nikolas and Gia did a great job of building a life together on a Soap opera that usually doesn't go into this much detail about how a young couple deals with finances. I also think that Gia dealt with Nikolas's life in a way that we never see from Liz, Emily, Courtney or Ava because Gia knows that she and Nikolas have so much to be grateful for and they are but Gia wants be with Nikolas even if things aren't going well and that money can't fix the fact that he missed out on a lot as a kid. I also think that Liz was never going to be able to handle Jason's life. I know that Emily and Nikolas built a life together but, they just didn't seem to have to deal with anything memorable and that there weren't many concerns or conflicts overall and that this storyline with Gia gave him more than he could ever want and they both worked and she was driven and he was driven to give Gia, Princess Sparky and himself the life that he wanted them to have. Nikolas was never allowed to be as driven in a positive and constructive manner before or since.

Gia and Nikolas also had fun with his money. They would go to New York City for 24 hours party and shop the whole time. Nikolas also wanted to take Gia to Bali for the weekend. And he was going to take Liz and Lucky with them to Paris. Nia felt like a young couple in love with lots of money.

You are right Liz was never going to be able to handle Jason's life. That was a stupid pairing.
