Nikolas was already in love with her. I think that Gia was always more ambitious than anyone else that Nikolas was in a romantic relationship with and she doesn't treat Nikolas like a rich and spoiled Prince unless she's upset with him. Gia treats Nikolas like a real person with his own dreams and goals. I am glad that Nikolas got her to stay and I always thought that Liz and Gia's dynamic was much more interesting than Liz and Emily's was when in reality Gia wanted Lucky to be safe from Helena much more than Liz knew. Gia always wanted to help Nikolas and be an equal at his side. Nikolas and Gia also both understood quickly despite being young that what happens to one of them happens to the other.

When i first started watching GH this was the couple i was introduced to. And they seemed so in love. How did they manage to write her out so completely 🫤🫤

They had to write her out completely. For Nik to move on with Emily so quickly. Because they established Gia as the true love of Nikolas's life. He even said he's never felt that way about anyone. (and yes he was friends with Emily for years at that point and only saw her as a little sister) He was willing to go to war with his family (and that includes his mother) for Gia. If they would have killed her off to give him a storyline and have her walk around like a ghost (like they did Emily) maybe more folks would remember their love story? But I think they didn't kill Gia off because someone high up wanted Gia (Marisa) to come back one day. I heard the EP for ABC daytime was a big fan of Nia. I'm not sure how true that is, but someone high up had to be a fan of Nia (or Gia). Because when someone tried to write a storyline of Gia using Elizabeth's rape to traumatize Elizabeth into dropping out of the Deception competition that storyline got dropped real quick.

Yeah originally Gia was suppose to throw acid on Liz's face during the FOD wars. Felicia Behr was our Nia angel at ABC when JFP wanted her gone. FB had no power once Frons came along though. Here's the whole story according to someone at lipstickalley: "I had a friend working at ABC at the time. Let me be clear when I say that JFP wanted Gia gone from the moment she arrived, but the head of ABC Daytime kept interfering because of Gia's popularity. First JFP tried to dismantle the character by getting rid of her mother. There was supposed to be a huge hospital story with her mother going against Helena. Think about how interwoven her mother was prior to JFP's arrival. She was supposed to have this huge past with Mike as well. Sonny and Taggart had that connection. JPF wiped all of that away. Then JFP wanted to have Gia throw acid on Liz' s face during the Face of Deception campaign. I saw the script myself. ABC stepped in and the FOD story came to a quick end. Then JFP had lucky and Liz move in with Nik/Gia so that Gia would be pushed to the side and Nik's crush on Liz would resurface. ABC again stepped in and Lucky and Liz quickly moved out. So JFP cooked up some other cockamamie reason for Nik and Gia to break up and try to pair the prince with someone more "appropriate " -- JFP words. But the Nik actor and Liz actress couldn't stand each other (the Liz actress also couldn't stand the Lucky actor at the time, Jacob something), so JFP's hope for a Nik and Liz pairing didn't pan out. And because Gia's popularity grew even more during the breakup fiasco, JFP cooked up the story of Gia sleeping with Stavros and betraying Nik. (saw that script too) Again ABC Daytime head honcho stepped in and put the kabbosh. There was a constant back and forth struggle over keeping Gia. You have no idea some of the "stories " JFP had planned for Gia. Very stereotypical. I think one of her "best" was Gia having a hit and run during Black History month, injuring Liz and having her blond sister come to the rescue. Both Courtney and Liz's sister were supposed to be for Nik, but the actor wasn't having it.. and fought to maintain the pairing with Gia. Plus, Courtney had more chemistry with AJ actor. Carly Number 2 was struggling and had more chemistry with Jax than Sonny. JFP loved the actor who played Nik (Coltin Scott/Martinez), so she wanted to unload Gia and have him go against Sonny. If you will remember: by the time Guza arrived and started messing with JFP's stories, Nik was supposed to have some face off with Sonny in Carly's club. Frons' becoming head of ABC Daytime is what ended it all.. from AMC to OLTL to GH. And when Marisa got that other show, Frons used the opportunity to get rid of the actress. Once Gia was gone, there was no way the Nik actor would be kept. Guza preferred the old Nik. So he went about getting the old guard back. From old Nik, to old Lucky. If you only knew. I haven't even shared a fraction of the backstage drama at ABC. I'm not even going to comment on McTavish. One and the same with JFP. Suffice it to say that Guza did not love Courtney... at all. Frons did. He had a blonde favorite on every ABC daytime show. I don't think it's difficult to guess who they were... from that stupid vampire soap to AMC to OLTL to GH. I'll leave you with this: Taggart was supposed to get this big story on the show, but guess who put the kabbosh on that? It wasn't JFP, McTavish, Guza, or Frons. It was a diminutive actor. I'll let you figure that one out."

@@nianikgia8432 I believe it. Conforti told some fans a lot of the drama that was going on. SM and MR were friends and Nikolas was just a 3rd wheel until he got his big breakout storyline with Gia I totally understand why he would fight to keep Nia together. It is crazy to me that a HW would sabotage a popular character and a popular pairing because of some personal vendetta against a fake person. I get that people can get attached to their creations. And want something particular for them. But still Gia was very popular it makes zero sense to sabotage that character. Now it makes sense that Florence that started off so strong ended up being a dayplayer. And after Taggert and Hannah broke up Taggert's character got kicked to the backburner. I guess in the end JFP got her wish. Emily is listed as Nikolas's only true love. And the Nia relationship is all but erased from show history. Only the fans that pushed for Trina to be Nia's daughter they are the angels that resurrected Gia and Nia into the show's consciousness. I am hoping that Gia will definitely be rewritten into the show and get the justice she deserves.

I do look at the script writers for Gia mention days and I noticed most of them are from a writer named Dave Rupel, who was actually a script writer during the Nia days, then left in 2001 for over a decade and came back a couple times in 2012 and 2017 but not full time until like 2019. I do remember reading we have Maurice of all people to thank for Gia not sleeping with Stavros because he hated the Angel story and complained to Felicia Behr. Behr flew out to Los Angeles and had a writers meeting. Cause of that meeting, the story shifted and we got those hotel scenes of Nik telling Gia she looked beautiful and Nik crying while playing the saxophone and Gia noticing Nik and Liz feeling nothing for each other. Early on Nik was saying horrible things about Gia and she was fastly moving with Stavros while Nik was wiping out Lucky's love for Liz. What did Conforti say about Nia?

@@nianikgia8432 I don't think he said anything about Nia. He talked about how all the other actors that play Lucky get treated badly because there is someone high up who only wants JJ to play Lucky. I think he talked about Becky, Jasam, and Scrubs, but I can't remember what it was because it was so long ago. And I'm not surprised that Maurice spoke out about some writers destroying a hot couple because she wanted to force-feed us Nik with Liz or Sarah. Also, Becky got pregnant during their big storyline to push Nik and Liz together. lol, Also Maurice talked about when he likes someone he will go to bat for them. That is why he treated the guy that is now playing Michael so badly at first. Because he liked the actor who played Michael before him.

"It's not my fault Gia is leaving" Gia is the only woman Nikolas got into his precious mother's face and his precious brother's face because they hurt her feelings. As a Nia fan I hate that the show (and some fans) act like Nikolas always loved Emily ( even tho Emily was a teenager and Nikolas was in his 20s). And Gia was just a speed bump in Nikolas's road to his one and only true love. And that is if they even acknowledge she ever existed at all. Anyone that watched the Nia love story know that is a rewrite of history. No wonder Marissa was some what surprised when she started getting questions about coming back to GH. Because the show worked over time to erase Gia Campbell and her relationship with Nikolas Cassadine. One more thing the crazy relationship issues Nem had Nia never had. When MR and SM played Nia they had storylines about them being against the world. They didn't turn against each other until they was writing Gia out of the show. Hopefully, they will write Gia back into the show and the character will get the justice she deserves.

You're welcome! I'm not confident this new group in charge of GH will bring Gia back anytime soon. Even tho they have dropped her name a few times over the last 2 years. Because they've had tons of opportunities to bring her back and they choose not to. Trina's trial and Portia's wedding (Trina's paternity reveal). I would think Taggert's family's reaction would be good television. I guess not?

There are a couple of writers on GH currently that used to write during the NIA days, namely Liz Korte, Dave Rupel and Suzanne Flynn. Unfortunately, I don't know how much power they have and the other writers and Frank are probably more interested in establishing their own creations.

I don't think the actress Marissa wants to come back to play Gia. But if all of this was happening I can't say I blame her. I really didn't like the last few actors playing Nicholas or the story lines they gave him.

Now nikolas is in Jail. And we know Gia is now a lawyer can GH bring her back to defend Nikolas and maybe start something .... I just started washing Gia and nikolas and i must say this is the best nikolas storyline and lovelife... I just started washing GH 5 monthss ago so I'm into spencer and trina. But those two please they were top tier!!!! Sad that he became this bad father for spencer. When he himself suffer all his childhood ..
