Bruce is being more literal than brutal. Bane said "only one man walks out alive" so Bruce keeps to his code by breaking the other guys knee, ergo he technically doesn't "walk out alive"

If each weight on the bench press bar is the same 45 pounds, and there are four of them on each side. This means Bane can lift 360lb with one arm and not seem to struggle at it.
