Our son was sick for 17 years. We learned to always ask questions, especially if you don't understand the procedures or why they are necessary. Always, always have an advocate with you. Never ever be sorry for asking questions. It saved our son, more than once, from unnecessary treatments, and once from doing something that would have killed him. Love your channel and how you inspire and lift women up. Bless you.

Nikol, I cannot begin to tell you how good it is to just sit down and watch your videos. So relaxing. I feel like we are girlfriends. Thank you so much for your kind words. I am 72 and always prided myself on being put together well. My MIL, whom I loved, lived with us for the last 3 years of her life, then I had surgery for cervical cancer. I am doing well, but the radiation has destroyed looks. I feel unseen most of the time. Thank you for giving me hope, and all of the makeup tips! I will never look like I did , but I can make the most of who I am right now! God Bless you, Nikol.

Stay strong. Cancer/surgery changes how you look, but not who you are. I had breast cancer, radiation, and three surgeries in 2018-20. I feel like I look a lot older, but I feel better now. It has just taken me quite a while to get back into my life. I hope you feel better!

Nikol, thank you for speaking the truth about all the negativity in comment sections. I really don't know what has happened to women over the last few years. Why are we attacking each other? We need to support and praise each other, or just move on if something doesn't float your boat. I have 2 daughters, one 26 and one 28. I hate all of this for them. So much daily anxiety. You keep being you. You bring me such joy with your videos. Thank you Nikol.

I liked the colors you used today-- very pretty! I'm so glad your father is OK, and I'm glad you were able to advocate for him. Blood transfusions can save lives, but really they are a liquid organ transplant, and shouldn't be administered routinely because of possible rejection issues. I am a now retired physician (radiologist). I was the sole care giver for my mother in our home for the last two and a half years of her life. Sadly she passed away two years ago age 93. She had many chronic conditions so I spent much time in doctor’s offices, the ER, and hospitals with her. I discovered so many discrepancies in her care. On the way home I would just shake my head and wonder what happens to patients without an advocate? All I can conclude is a good deal of them do not get better or even die. I am so very glad you were there for your father and that you had the courage to challenge strange lab results. I adore your channel and its philosophy of helping women of all ages to look the best they can without surgery or procedures. I just turned 70 last month and fantasize about you helping me. I have learned much from your channel. Keep up the excellent work. About the coat, it is not something I could pull off. I am so glad you spoke up for you Dad. My Daddy is 88 years old and you story touched my heart. In my family we have many stories of family members speaking up for those who are sick and saving them time, trauma and even their life. I often think that those who spew their negativity, often need the light of truth to shine upon them. They have gotten away with their ugly behavior for so long they think it is “their right”, when really it just shows us who they are. I remember the “good ole days”, when the common practice was: “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” One can only hope that by holding up a mirror to their ugliness they will begin to see what the rest of us see. You and your family (including your fur baby) will be in my prayers.

@@NikolJohnson the burnout in a high traffic Emergency Department is always a factor…. But yeah ED nurses are usually a bit jaded and just kinda “rough” ( you might be too sweet and kind to be around those types…. I think you found your calling and you nurture and care for so many people in a equally as important way with your channel and its positive message of self love. I know it’s disheartening, but I promise not all of us are this careless…. It could also be a laboratory error but the chain of custody is very simple and it’s so critical I’m horrified. The nurse or tech draws blood and immediately labels it and sends it directly to the lab. This is worth notifying the hospital about because had it been overlooked and he was given a transfusion with the incorrect blood type it could be fatal and other serious reactions… Your dad is very blessed to have a daughter like you. You would have been given a “close call” award if you caught this error as a member of the bedside care staff 🌈☀️💐💐. Xoxo

I want to say thank you for so many things. I’ve been through a lot in recent years, and I lost myself along the way. Years of taking care of everyone else and I forgot who I was. I went to school for fashion design but I lost my passion for style. So much of life became about trying to look nice while being functional. I’m new to your channel and watching it has been such a joy. It reminded me of how much I love the art of clothes and makeup. Thank you also for building that amazing closet. It is such a beautiful place for you to film in addition to being functional for you. I’m always so excited when you say we’re going in the closet. Haha

You’re a great honey, don’t give a second thought about other people say. We love you just the way you are. If it wasn’t for you, we would have no one to tell us the right way to do things. Believe me I have watched a lot of make up, so-called artist, and there’s no one as good as you. I am a woman of age and you supply all of my needs and what you tell me works for me. I just wanted you to know that, and I know there’s a lot of women out here watching you feel the same way. I hope your Frenchie gets well real soon honey and I hope you Take care of yourself too, darling. I will always have my eye out watching your videos. You are the best and thank you very much, Nicole.❤

Nikol, your videos always make me relax and I thoroughly enjoy listening to you. Ignore and block the negative, mean girls, they never grow up into nice women. Yes, always advocate health wise. I had a wonderful woman internist at Mayo Clinic for 25 years who told me, if you don’t advocate for yourself, no one else will, unless they are close relative. I question everything. So pleased your father is okay. Our daughter had emergency surgery last week and I rushed her to ER, she ended up with an appendectomy, and I was her advocate because she’s never had surgery. She’s had two children but no surgeries. Her husband died last April. I love the coat and yellow dress. Keep them both! And you look absolutely gorgeous in everything you put on, you always are beautiful. The haters are so jealous. Have a great weekend!

💥❤️You’re wonderful ‼️💥 Holy Smokes…That Coat is EVERYTHING ‼️✨ I have noticed so many snotty comments about grammar and spelling on channels recently….this is what it’s coming to⁉️People are SO WEIRD‼️💥 Good for you, listening to your gut and speaking to the doctor in a professional tone with your request. Medicine is called “practice “ because that is what it is, practice. Doctors are not gods and conversation is key…people should try to remember not to be intimidated by doctors 😉❤️✨

YES KEEP THE COAT!!!! What a great vlog. Love the make up, the sentiment and stressing that having a health advocate go along is critical. Thank you, Nikol. I hope you get answers soon for your Frenchie.

😮good for you to listen to your own instincts. I am a retired nurse and I know that now more than ever, patients do need an advocate. Disasters happen that negatively affect human lives.

I love that you are speaking out and speaking up about the way we treat each other. Humanity needs to hear those messages. I'm an elementary school counselor and I work very hard to teach children about being kind, caring and compassionate. It's difficult when these sweet little humans aren't seeing those traits being modeled. Keep speaking your truth, Sister!

Always, always have an advocate when going to the hospital. My daughter is a NP and recently accompanied me to the ER. I'm a nurse but when anyone is a patient, we MUST have someone to ask questions, ask about protocols and lab results.Good on you!

Nicole, it’s me again. Listening to your story about your dad. I just came home from an iron infusion which I have been doing for three years now because my hemoglobin levels does not stay up so I have to do iron infusions every three months. I had to have a blood transfusion. My hemoglobin was down to four, but I have a hernia that rubs my diaphragm and bleeds. but at my age, repairing a hernia is kind of scary to me. And they say the recovery is quite hard so at my age I have decided to go ahead with the iron infusions and keep my blood up. Thank God you were there for your father. You’re a good daughter honey. I have a daughter it does the same for me. She’s definitely my Advocate.

Love your style! Love your tutorials. I just turned 60 and find I "need" more make-up now than I have ever used in my life! I've always been a minimalist. A little neutral powder, a little mascara, lipstick, done. Not anymore...now it's "cover the age spots"....more spf....hooded eyelids....disappearing lip line, etc...etc.....I have to admit, all the steps can be overwhelming, but I finally feel and "look" like I know what I'm doing.....Thank you!

Omg thank God you spoke up at the ER. I am my mom's health advocate and I know that doctors are not very good at accepting there may be a mistake. Good for you❤❤ I love that base, I use it all the time even for work and change up jacket & scarfs. .it's so New York ❤ The coat is reminiscent of the 60s London fashion wave. I love it.

Nikol, I watch you often and learn so much. I am 72 and do not want to get stuck in that look that was popular in my youth like so many women do. You are an absolute delight. My Mom who was my best friend while still being my mother, would tell you that those negative comments are from those who are jealous of your success. There are so many supportive girlfriends; we do not need any of the negative ones. You bring so much fun and joy to what you do. Very true about hospitals. I live in SWFL and understand the heat and humidity. However, if you can use the coat,; it is a yes. It has drama, in a good way.

Yes! An advocate is so important! I learned that from taking care of my mother who had a brain tumor. Ask as many questions as you need and don’t let the medical professionals intimidate you. I had to push a lot for the best care for my mother all during COVID. Thank you for the real talk. Your channel is fabulous.

Thank you for being so enjoyable. I have learned a lot here and being an 83 year old clothes horse, look forward to your videos. I will keep the good thought for your Frenchie. We have one. He is a brindle . Having bred , shown and trained dogs all my life, I have found this breed, to be surprisingly intelligent. Much like some of the working and terrier breeds, known for their brains.

You listened to your intuition and were willing to take action. That's fantastic, Nicole! Our intuition is in our gut and too often we are afraid to speak up.
