Amen to that! I left the corporate world 6 months ago after a 20+ year career because I could not take the toxicity anymore, and yes, the most toxic people were women playing games and politics. I wouldn't be so sure about people not saying nasty things in person, rebecca. I was the deciding voice for a woman my group hired at my last job, and I helped her get signed up for the classes she needed, coached her, and was always cordial and helpful. One day, she saw me checking my automatic deposit and the savings allocations much of it went to online, and she commented, "you're sitting on all that money - one of these days you're going to die alone and leave all your money to your dog." It took me a while to get my breath back and remind myself that only a very limited person would say such a thing. Late in the day, I wheeled my chair over near hers, and said, "I want you to know, that comment you made was unnecessary and out of line. Please don't expect any more help from me."

You are an inspiration for so many of us that follow you. Please take comfort in knowing your beauty, style, honesty, and advice inspire us. We all have some self doubt, and under normal circumstances we can move past it…but I can’t imagine being bombarded with these low vibrations. You’re right, we can do better and we should. I worked in healthcare and my position was outsourced in 2003. My friend was the business manager for Shiseido for Bloomies in NYC. She offered me a job at a new Bloomies in NJ. I reluctantly took the job. It was the hardest job I ever had. Retail in general is hard on the body, but the sales quotas are really difficult to reach (there was no foot traffic in the store). Store managers ostracize sales people when they don't hit their quotas and fall all over them when they do. It's cut throat on the floor. Kudos to anyone working high-end cosmetic sales.

I have skimpy brows, not dark under the eyes, but spotting from too much sun on very fair skin, some waves in my hair, but it’s thin,, has no body.. I found your channel last year when I was trying to find myself again after my husband became disabled and I went through three major illnesses/health crises of my own-and I had to keep working because I was suddenly the sole financial support for my household. I never gave up makeup, but I literally wore the same colors/shades/everything for over five years-and it didn’t look good, and I knew it, but I was too sick to care. When I finally started recovering my health and financial stability, I had to find a makeup mentor because I had totally lost my finesse with color theory and my application skills were sooo…forgotten. Additionally, a long illness left me with a dark vein showing through the skin under one eye, and it’s really hard to conceal (but thanks to you, I’ve got that figured out now). So I went looking, and you’re the person I found. I remember seeing you in 90s magazines and on HSN and your authenticity is so relatable. You are so much more than a makeup mentor. Some of the things you’ve addressed in your videos helped me reconnect to myself, organize my thinking, and pull myself out of survival mode. Thank you for doing what you do! ❤ That dark vein under my eye? I teach high school and last year I was told that I deserved my black eye because anybody who makes a career out of tormenting children deserves to be punched in the face. I’m blown away by the things people complain about and the rude things they say. I get where you’re coming from. I just don’t understand people who can’t stop projecting cruelty. Keep being you. ❤

That light green suit looked great on you & with your hair! Loved the black too. I don't care how pretty someone looks, the instant they say something unkind or snarky, especially if they go on & on about how another person looks, I AM going to say something like "did that somehow make you feel better about yourself?" and I am done with them. There's no need to tear others down. You look so fantastic & definitely a relevant model still, how people can say bad things to you boggles my mind, it is just a reflection on their own insecurities & jealousy. JMO

First, let me say, I love your videos. Classy, Classy, Classy. You don’t have to be thin or rich to look good and feel good about yourself. Having said that, social media has forever changed people’s self validation process. Their self worth is completely based on taking 300 selfies to find the “perfect one” to post and waiting to see how many likes they get. No matter how many likes they get, they only see the one thumbs down and only read the negative comments. People can accept positive feedback but hate the but….because everyone thinks they are perfect. Who cares what some person somewhere in the universe thinks of you. It doesn’t matter.

Nikol and everyone...It's past time for us to accept ourselves as we are...I'm 77 years old, have in the last 2 years learned to accept myself as I am!!!! I'm an older woman! How in the world did it take me 75 years to accept me being me? We each have our personal issues from our childhood on which brought this lack of confidence - looks, nose, lips, hair, eyebrows, belly, feet, height, skin...you name it. We judge ourselves harshly. We cannot be our best selves! No Longer will I be that person. It took years of illness, body changes from meds from life to make me look deeply inside, have chat with me my God, to realize I'm a wonderful creation. I'm beautiful as I am. Since accepting myself as I really am I am so happy to be alive! Give this gift to yourself!

Dear Nikol: You are the second beauty content creator that I've heard this from in the past two days and it is so sad that some women feel the need to step on others to feel better. It is not right. It is not how we should treat each other. I love your channel because it feels very high vibe to me and I like looking at a beautiful woman who resembles me try on beautiful clothes and make up, and it puts me in the right frame of mind. I'm so sorry that you've been getting less than what you deserve. There are so many more women that love you and appreciate you that I'd like to say forget about the few that don't, but I know it's hard and we're here for you whenever you want to vent! Sending you so much love! - Sunny 💋💋💋❣❣❣

You’re wonderful, Nicole, we love you and appreciate you, and in large part, because you’re not a fake, a phony, and a pretender. You’re showing us how we can do the best with what we have and to accept it joyfully. We love your natural style and look. Whoever is criticizing you is probably consumed by the plastic surgery industry and can no longer except themselves in a normal natural state. That’s their problem not yours.

I am sorry to hear about you getting such negative feedback from other women. At 70 years old, I am still amazed to see women my own age still in their "high school" mentality. Some of us never grow up emotionally. My mother used to tell me that they are just jealous and my son made me laugh when he told me to cheer up, "you have been living rent-free in their heads!" So there you go, Nikol, I do believe that this applies to you, too! You are beautiful inside and outside! :)

As my grandmother ingrained in us . . . To thine own self be true & thy tears will be few & don't let the negative keep you from doing you! That blue shadow is very pretty on you & mixes well with the gray in your hair . . . 🎉

Nikol I am 69. I have melasma I fight all the time. I use a tinted moisturizer. I see my flaws through the tinted moisturizer. But it still looks good to me because it’s not too bad and it’s reality. I don’t angst about looking flawless anymore. And I’m okay with it. It’s comforting.

Nikol, thank you for your wonderful spirit that truly shines through in the way you never sugarcoat anything, are always encouraging, supportive and caring towards your ever-growing audience. Because of the above---because of the way you are, you may not realize how many women actually conduct tutorials that often leave viewers feeling inadequate when we cannot achieve fabulous results when their attitude and difficult (often impossible) to follow instructions leave us wanting to toss out all our makeup in frustration. Your entire posts are full of positive reinforcement and your demonstrations provide alternatives---we are never told we must follow specific rules: "You must apply the liner to this point, then wing it out with a flourish..." Sadly, this is not an exaggeration. I love that you provide us with options for adapting any technique you are teaching, always reminding us that we are all different and to stay true to what looks good to us---that everything we try can always be re-done, altered---that nothing is a mistake, it was simply not the best application for you and to have fun experimenting with makeup. Your message is always, "Keep learning, keep trying, you will succeed." I hope you know you have had a positive effect on so many women's lives---and I am one of the grateful many.

You are right, Nikol! Why are women so vicious about others looks or perceived lack of "beauty". Let's be more supportive of each other. You inspire me to be my best, thank you!

I thought I knew everything their was about makeup but realized I didn't. You have taught me so many little tricks I can't believe what a difference it makes in the finished look. I will continue to watch your videos everyday sometimes twice a day snd always learn something new everytime. Thank you for your time and knowledge.❤❤ You are absolutely stunning and classy.

@Virginia Here's a confession I've never made before- when I was in 6th grade Mrs. Dalrimple😟 sent me home(embarrassed me)because I wore makeup to school(my mom didn't know). I've worn a full face of makeup for 50 years. I love makeup🤷 and it has had a big place in my life. I have worn minimal makeup for the last 2 years d/t income(I've never worn drug store makeup). I found that people interact with me completely different when I'm not wearing makeup. It's been nice. But it's still not appropriate for professional situations🤷🙂

I so enjoy your blog. I am 74 and get so much out of them. I have always had oily skin which in my youth was bothersome but has saved my skin fro wrinkling so I still enjoy playing with makeup. I too have skin discoloration and I love your eye primer for that alone even though I don’t do shadow very often. Also love your bb cream and color correcting pencils. Keep encouraging women of all ages to feel beautiful. You are beautiful inside as well as outside.

When the first caveman whispered into some cave woman's ear "Ewww, you better watch out for that one over there. She might steal me away from you." Ever since that day, woman bought into the mindset of being jealous of, suspicious of, and petty towards one another. We will never get ahead in the world with this mindset. Men take their posse with them when they climb the ladder. Logical. You want to surround yourself with good soldiers. Women don't because we can't and don't trust each other. So we do the "I did it myself" and lose more potential allies. That being said, Nikol your beautiful, gracious, delightful, humorous and a gift to anyone who has the chance to bask in your light and wisdom. Even if it's only on a cell phone, lol. You are the best. Luvya and just keep doing you!
