Great review. I went to buy a range finder at the PGA Superstore and they went through all the feature benefits but then the guy said “after a BIG Friday night, this one works well on Saturday morning with shaky hands!” SOLD. Nikon also has a feature which allows you to hold the button down and shoot multiple objects like bunkers, trees, lakes for ball carry purposes.

As someone with last year's model (80i VR) and someone with essential tremors (old man shaky hands,) I can honestly say that the optical stabilization is amazing. I haven't been able to shoot any flags with any of my friends' rangefinders outside of 160 yards. But with mine, I can shoot a flag to 250 yards (or longer) easily. On the battery side, I go through 2 batteries per season. That may be due to the optical stabilization but well worth the investment. I think anyone can benefit this rangefinder... With or without shaky hands. Great review! PEW PEW!

The slope reading is not supposed to give you the real distance. Its supposed to tell you how far it will feel like because you are hitting up hill. So a 100 yard shot up hill may require a club that hits 115, so the slppe reading will say 115. Plus Pythagoras didn't play golf so what would he know? :)

I have the Nikon Coolshot 20, which does not have the stabilization feature and is smaller, but being small it is super light so when I'm walking a course I don't feel the extra weight. Also, even without the stabilization feature it captures the flag really well, has a nice legible display, which is black not red and green, and costs half as much as this one. Anyways solid review!

1:39 - For Christ's sake, that's exactly what happened to my Nikon CoolShot 2 years ago, swear-to-God! I always kept it hung by the D-ring on the top part my Nike golf bag...about midway thru a round, it's not in the case and the case is popped open and I thought someone just went up to my bag and stole it, but the course was relatively empty and my playing partners confirmed nobody was around us to steal it...I had to conclude that the case just popped open when I drove over some bumps with the golf cart. What's worse is, my faith in humanity was lost because I called the pro shop for a week and nobody returned it and that's just sad. It worked great, best one I ever had…but if you buy this, don’t use the carry case or buy a good carry case for it.

You think you can make such drastic changes and we wouldn't notice? WHERE'S THE TISSUE?! Related to the video, what do you think about phone GPS apps (Grint, SwingBySwing, 18Birdies, etc.) compared to this? Do you think an average golfer would benefit more from knowing the front/back of the green vs exact yardage to the pin?

Golfer mates, a little alert that I take from time to time for you to make a reasoned purchase. Here is for the NIKON Coolshot Pro Stabilized I bought a used NIKON Coolshot Pro Stabilized, the top of the range NIKON after more than 15 years with the brand Bushnell. Why ? To see …. My attention point for you Golfer mates is 2 orders and concerns a warranty issue with NIKON. First, the person who sold it to me could not provide proof of purchase. It was a gift and he didn’t get the invoiced and certainly wasn’t going to say he sold the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized 1 month after that gift. So I contacted Nikon because I wanted to be able to benefit from the guarantee as a commercial and legal matter if necessary. It should be noted that I have had this kind of case with the SONY and COMPEX trademarks. Both trademarks have granted it to me. Sony has found, thanks to the serial number product's, the date of the delivery to store and made me leave the warranty from it. Compex asked me to keep the trade agreement email. NIKON, REFUSES categorically to grant the legal guarantee to which it is normally subject. This despite the price of the product and the so-called customer matters. WORSE, I saw in the box a paper mentioning a 1 year guarantee !!! However, in Europe the legal guarantee is 2 years. And NIKON must follow it. NIKON clearly wishes to divest itself of its legal obligations. I’m even wondering how that will work if there’s a guarantee to play with an invoice. Bad I guess. I made it clear to NIKON that I would alert the community of French, English and Spanish golfers, speaking these three languages, it obviously did not seem to worry them. They probably think we have too much money and could buy the range finder again if it will not work fine. For a product at 499 euros in some stores (in France), I had to alert if you're buying and you could make the right choice. I was very pleased with my Bushnell. If Nikon ever changes his mind, I will let you know. Best regards My friends
