I got a D4 last year and am still blown away by the af and the iso performance, shooting sports and events I can''t say I have ever felt let down by it, especially when paired with any of the professional glass. absolutely love it!

I’m with you on this, I purchased a D4S in mint condition at a bargain and it has been the workhorse it was made to be. Agreed, the ISO performance is great, I get clean images at ISO levels I would not try with other bodies. After shooting my first wedding with it, I got some of the best images in my wedding portfolio with it. I am in the market now for a D5 simply for its AF system, but no parting with my D4S…

I am also looking at the D5 for its AF system but have a D850 which does quite well, just the file sizes are way too much more events @@russellwright9961

Hello Vahagraphy, You're right about shooting something different, it does make you think. Some time using different kit. For years I used older kit. Now I am using some of the new kit a that is more difficult as there are so many option to use in focusing modes, to be honest when I am not sure I switch back to manual. I now have switch all my standard F mount glass to the Z system just as it work so well. I also shoot Hasselblad to an that just make you slow down a bit and enjoy the art of photography, In fact I was out the other day in the wilds of North Yorkshire taking 24 minuet exposures that about 1440 sec for each image. I did not take many but I was stunned how good the results are. Keep well, keep safe and continue to just enjoy taking images.

Excellent! Getting outdoors and taking photos in a relaxed fun environment is good for body, mind and soul. A great opportunity to see something new and whip the creative juices. Go for it! PS-Try Balboa Resevoir area. It's loaded with wildlife. Rock & Roll

Nice advice here man. I agree with you on the fact that trying new styles of photography will only increase your skill set. I started with wedding videos , then portrait photography (which greatly improved my video skills). Now I'm into wildlife and Planes with these huge lenses and it has helped me tremendously. I just picked up the Sigma 150-600mm "Sport" (EF) and I have tried it adapted on Sony, Panasonic FF and M4/3, Sigma, Fuji and Canon mirror-less. Yet still the best results came from a old DSLR I was about to get rid of (50mp Canon 5DS). The Canon 7Dii produces absolutely perfect AF speed and decent resolution resolution at only 20mp cropped. So glad I kept these cameras!

On the Nikon mirrorless can you use Nikon speed lites? Like sb600 or sb800

You’ll do fine it’s just shooting fast ISO, wide open and fast shutter speed

Will the Nikon AF-S 600mm f/4 D II ED IF version be as sharp as the f/4E FL ED VR ? Greetings.

I'm guess no, however it will be damn close. THe coatings are better on the newer models and so is the AF motors. that D is like a brick when it comes to weight. all metal body. the glass would be stellar though.

@@Vahagraphy If the optical quality is very close then I prefer to save and buy an older version. Vr is not that important because I mostly use a fast shutter. Weight is also not a problem.

Whatever gets the job done. I still shoot my F100, Hasselblad my 2 tools of choice. I don’t shoot professionally anymore

Agreed try a part of photography you don’t know very well. My multiple flash on location going against the sun could use some work. I do well with 1 flash on location, but several flashes on location needs work.

I ordered brand new D850 yesterday for hybrid shooting. Couldn't care less about gimmicks Z cameras have that will only make you lazy and worse photographer/videogrpher in the long run.
