Wow! I Thank you. I am so glad I found your channel and this play list on D700, the camera I've been using for over 10 years, without deep knowledge on things like HDR. I thought of upgrading and decided not. I'd rather make better use of it.

Hi, I recently purchased a D700. Your videos have been amazing…very informative and helpful! Can you bracket photos on a tripod with a remote shutter release or do you have to manually hold the Fn button and shutter release at the same time? I’m concerned about handheld shakiness/blur. Thank you!!
@frederikboving11 ай бұрын
Hi Jeff, not sure why you would want to hold the Fn button? Sorry if I'm being dense. If you want to shoot bracketed and worry about camera shake, then I would drop the continuous mode and shoot the images individually - the camera will still go through the bracket series, you just have to hit the shutter as many times as there are in the bracketing series (3, 5 etc). That should be possible with a remote although I have not tried it to be honest. And you can set menu d9 to on to activate shutter release delay if you dont have a remote control. That way you minimize shake from both photographer and the mirror flicking. Hope this helps!

Ignoring the modern digital HDR & pp, Exposure Bracketing can be used as an insurance (mostly in a hurry), especially against improper metering (b/f from the film days) or difficult metering situations. For example, photographing a VIP inside a limo with the window down, against a snow foreground without EV compensation, etc. 😊

Hello Frederik, at some time please could you do a video on how to do flash bracketing. I’ve tried but the method I’m using doesn’t seem to have much effect. I set the camera up in manual with auto iso and the flash ,off camera ,to TTL. Should the flash be set to manual as well. Your help will be much appreciated.Thanks.

Thank you Wilmar, I use a PC that I have built myself with Windows 10 running on it. The processor is an I5-8600. Even though it is a few years old, I find it difficult to upgrade to a new CPU that will give me a dramatic performance improvement.

when I set my D700 just as you have yours at 3:27 on the video and run a series of shots, it doesn't change the shutter speed on any of the shots and the histogram of course looks the same on all of them. It shows the bracketing icon and the shots being fired off in the LCD display but no change in shutter speed or exposure. Any idea why? Could their be some setting stopping it from changing. I turned off auto iso and tried a different lens but still no joy. My firmware is 1.04. Any ideas much appreciated otherwise I guess I'll try a factory reset.

If you have LR classic, select the say 3 pictures in grid view, press control-H, and you should be able to have LR generate a HDR processed image with details both in the highlights and the shadows.
