If you own a Nikon D7000 then this series of "How To Tutorial" is the absolute best! I come back to these videos ever so often for a quick 'refresher course' and every time I am amazed by how great these videos are towards explaining the ins and outs of this camera, and how to use the different features.

one thing to mention! i just realised yesterday you can use your screen in live view to take photos and to check your focus with zoom, but finaly being able to go lower than 30/1 on my shutterspeed. All you have to do is turn off Manual settings/exposure in video options. Life changer for my real estate photography!

I can listen to your videos all day long! I'm really amazed on how simple and clean you can make these "how to" videos, is like a father talking to a child, which is exactly what we amateur need!

3 days ago my nephew loaned me the D7000 to see if I liked it. As of 20 minutes ago just before I came across your video, I was going to give it back to him not wanting to buy it. I was overwhelmed with all the functions on it. All I can say now is... Thank you! thank you! thank you! I am now the proud owner of a Nikon D7000!

FRO KNOWS FŌTŌS! You're a GREAT "Instructions Manual". Yesterday I "graduated" from my D5000, to a NICE D7000. Packed with features, I was BLOWN AWAY!🤯 From April 2019 I've progressed: Canon Sx50hs PowerShot, Nikon, D3000, then the D5000. I'm POSITIVE I WON'T outgrow my D7000! I've SUBSCRIBED to your channel, appreciate and love your work. Great Job!🙌

I bought my camera at a place with "great" customer service. So...perhaps the service is great if you're an experienced photographer. If you're a newbie, they don't have the time of day. Your video is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for putting together a straight-forward guide using "normal person" language!

Jared...Thank You very much!! I've been trying to read my D7000 User's Manual and don't get me wrong...Nikon has really done a great job in publishing a great user manual. But YOU have cut short the time it would have taken me to understand the buttons/functions etc of the camera!! The ease in how you explained these and in such a simple and clear way makes it a joy to watch and do reruns of your tutorial. The picture in picture setup of your video is a plus too. Alexlanza79's comment is quite true!! Much gratitude Jared ...and thanks for the fun humor too!! (Y)

Awesome tutorial; after finally deciding to upgrade the Nikon D60 I got in 2008 I was left both amazed and slightly nervous about my new D7000. Though I understood the buttons and functions, I was still left feeling like if I didn't learn more I would ruin my experience with it. I'm glad I watched the tutorial and will most definitely be watching the next.

Thank you so much for this video! I live on a gorgeous subtropical island in Japan and wanted so badly to capture the beauty of it all so I took a photography class and did a lot of research online as to which camera would suit my needs the best. Within a month I came home with the D7000 and although I LOVE the camera, I found trying to learn from the manual an overwhelming task and was quickly discouraged. Needless to say, I have been doing a lot of shooting in Auto. Not anymore! Thanks!!

It's now quite a good time I'm using this D7000 camera (I'm even thinking about replacing it) but I have to admit this video has reminded me the goal of some buttons (and BTW why I do not use them) and I've learned also some stuffs, like the way to quickly reformat the SD cards... I used to go to the menu to do this. Much quicker to use the integrated "two-buttons" way to reformat the cards. Thanks Jarod

What is your lens situation Chee Yang?
@Subzero228111 жыл бұрын
Gary Jimenez I'm using a 35mm f/1.8, it's the only lens I have for now and currently using. So far I like it a lot. I was hoping if I upgraded the camera I might get better shots.
@GaryJimenez11 жыл бұрын
If it's the 35mm 1.8G then you have to take in to consideration that it is a DX lens. On the D600 or any other FX body you won't be using the camera to its full extent. I would suggest a lens right now instead of a new body. As far as obtaining new gear this will net you the greatest bang for your buck. But the best thing to do is just keep shooting and studying others work for ideas and inspiration.
@Subzero228111 жыл бұрын
Gary Jimenez yeah I was having second thoughts about the FX because I would need to buy FX lens to use its full potential. I'm currently looking into a used nikon 12-24mm or maybe the 70-200mm sigma.

@82mccord12 жыл бұрын
If you're shooting on a cropped sensor, then the 35 is almost the same as the 50. It comes out to like 43mm, I think. If you get the 50, then your shooting more at around 75mm. I'm sure you may know this already, but I didn't when I was first starting out so I thought I'd share. Also, I got the 35mm f/1.8G and love it. It's sharp as a tack and can shoot in almost any light, even at lower ISO. I rarely take the 35 off my D3100. Regards.

Hello, I am looking to buy DSLR but bit confused which one to buy because of lots of options being available in the market. Here I would like to add that I like taking photos of my family and kids at home (including portraits), indoor photography, family trips to another city or country (holidays) , day outs, school functions, kids sports, friends get-together etc. I would love to take blurred background pictures which is my favorite part. I am less bothered about capturing videos, I just like taking photos. I am not much into wild photography, architecture, etc. Should I buy DSLR Camera and Lens in one go instead of buying them separately? I am thinking of buy eitehr Nikon 18-105mm or 18-200mm lens. Not sure which lens to buy! and would that be worth to buy these zoomed lens keeping in view my above photography priorities! Or should I go for prime lens? And also not sure which camera body to buy? My budget is approx. $1200 (£750). Thank you in advance for your time and comments. Amateur Photographer

Yes, the D7000 has an internal focusing motor. If the lens is manual focus only, then it's still not gonna be able to autofocus. The AF/MF switch is pretty straight forward...it switches from autofocus to manual focus and vice versa.
