I am in Southern Ontario, in Canada. This past winter we had a few snowies around but last year we had an irruption of owls which brought many amazing birds to our area. They sat around in fields, on posts and fences. The males are amazing and have very little black on them.

I enjoyed your video as always, Mark! I especially appreciated your comment about your shutter speed being set too low as the female owl flew over your head - and missing the opportunity for a tack sharp shot, but knowing that you had an experience you will never forget. I often feel that conflict in myself, and work really hard to prioritize my experience above all (though I’m not a pro photographer!). Sharing your thoughts and experience, and your comments on animal behavior and biology add a dimension and tremendous value to your already amazing photography.

Thanks so much and I really meant it. I might have missed a perfect shot but I had an incredible experience that I will never forget. Sometimes it can be hard to enjoy the moment when you are so focused on trying to get a good shot. The experience is what really matters. The shots just help you relive it! Thanks for all the great compliments.
