So a little update on my journey to finding my Nature Photo Set up (Wildlife and Landscape). I have now sent the Z8 back to Nikon, this was a couple hours before Firmware 2.0, so I have not tested with the new firmware. How have you found a change in systems? did you find it was worth it or do you feel the results were incremental better and you could have just stayed with what you had? Let me know below

I think if you enjoyed the Z 8 even if it's not a medium format I think for the price point the Z 8 is a very compelling option and is a very respectable Camera . one thing you can count on with Nikon of late is huge firmware updates that listen to customers needs.

Yes, if one could afford the Z8, then get it and rest easy. It is truly a jack of all trades, something that will reward the owner. Also, what lens you use for your shoots is also vital. Great video bro

Hi, I’m shooting with Fujifilm gfx100s but it’s not good for all types of photography which I like (Portrait, Landscape, Still-life). It’s heavy and bulky with gf lenses to carry around, and slow for sports and wildlife if sometimes I like to experience it! But it seems Z8 is all in one camera. The only matter important to me is if I switch to Z8, with 14bit and 45mp, could I achieve the same high images quality (detailing, colour rendering, and deep dynamic range) by gfx100s with 16bit and 102mp? (Specially for Landscape Photography). Thank you.

Say, my wife and I will be in Queenstown on Feb 29th for three days. What part of Glenorchy was that? Love the shots you got there! We plan on shooting/hiking out there on March 1. It's our second trip to Queenstown! I just upgraded to a Z8 from D810. While mostly a landscape and still life shooter, I've now gotten into birds and wildlife only since the Z8 purchase in December. Time permitting for the both of us, any chance to meet up for a coffee in Queenstown? Do you live in Queenstown?

Fantastic! It's a beaut spot. Queenstown is great, especially this time of year. Yeah I live in Queenstown. Flick me a message on instagram, Bernie Shore, and let's see if we can grab a coffee. Will be tight but see how we go.

I so nearly brought one of these in November, but for some reason decided at the last minute that I liked using my optical viewfinder on my Nikon D850, and I did a lens analysis only to realise that Nikon still does not have the lens that I would want if I was to change to the Z-mount. So I believe that I will now wait for the Nikon Z8Mk2 before switching lens to the z-mount. Hoping that Nikon makes the other two lens missing from the lineup that I need.

Great video mate, beautiful morning there too. Burton’s do illuminate, you just flick the on - off switch a bit further and they light up. Very very handy for astrophotography, even for me who has been using Nikon for years. Beautiful shots!

Thanks mate! appreciate it. It's a ripper camera. Loved the handling, ergonomics and those buttons are amazing. Craig and I used to say why don't they make light up buttons on the Fuji's.....we may have even requested Japan team add this. Talk soon!

Loved my Xt2 for landscapes and even wildlife, a weight I could carry but not as good in low light unfortunately . My Z7ii with Sigmas 100-400 gives me just enough reach for wildlife and is manageable. I would have loved Z8 but too dear and heavier though I believe it is fantastic for birds in flight. Zf has some Z8 tech and lighter so am going to try that with the big lens. Nikon image quality is very good

nothing to do with camera or gear ,the photographer is the best thing for landscape photography or any other photography.
@bernieshore8 ай бұрын
I totally agree, like I said in a video a couple weeks ago. Most of my favourite images we taken on 15 year old DSLR's...there is definitely more important things than tech. Even for wildlife, my favourite wildlife photo was taken on a GFX50sii, quite a slow camera but managed to get the moment and put myself in the best position for success. Thanks for your comment and thanks for connecting!

I'm a landscape photographer in Australia and I was a dilemma about this camera. The price in Australia is exceedingly expensive for Nikon Z gear. I actually started experimenting with Fujifilm and I loved the colour science in Fuji and I've ended up in the GFX system because of a huge price drop in GFX gear in Australia. It became affordable to get into GFX and wow it is amazing for landscape photography now for an all round camera, you can't shoot birds with it, but I keep my eye on the 850 for that I don't do a lot of wildlife stuff. It's mostly landscape and the GFX camera blows out of the water for image quality it truly . And it's heavier. Honestly my GFX 50 S mark 2 weighs less than a 850 even with the lens on. I also read a lot of Nikon Z8 cameras going back for all sorts of problems with software. The shutter curtain breaking.... No thanks. If you are looking for a pure landscape camera, the GFX series are absolutely amazing. Honestly you will get a camera that is just mind blowing really good for landscape photography. I honestly believe you can shoot wildlife in terms of birds and that kind of stuff with far cheaper gear, and I actually think it's better to have separate cameras for separate jobs instead of trying to have one camera that does everything that's always been my experience as a professional photographer that having the right tool is far more important I still shoot birdlife with my DA 50, which I've kept and honestly I didn't see a huge leap in image quality from the 850 to the Z8. It was marginal improvement. But I saw a huge jump when I went to GFX. Oh my gosh. I've hit the subscribe button and if you want to have a look at my work jump onto Instagram and you'll see my GFX photos nevclarke_artphotography

Totally agree with the GFX commentary, I have a few GFX lenses still. Had a GFX50r and sold to buy the GFX100s. But a few things happened and used the money when we moved to the South Island. The GFX blows anything I've ever used out of the water for landscapes. It will be hard for my to not go the way of GFX, I worked for Fujifilm for 7 years so I know it back to front. Great to hear you are enjoying the GFX D850 combo. That's a great idea actually. I was hoping to do the same with GFX and X. I'll check out your instagram soon :) Thanks for your comment mate! Appreciate your help and message

@@bernieshore no worries mate at all. I'm about to start my KZbin channel as well. It's been awhile but I've decided to jump into KZbin. I'll launch some stuff soon and let you know. I've also got a Fujifilm XT5 I know it's crazy having three cameras I don't carry all three at once, but I just had different cameras for different jobs. The XT5 is bit of an all-round camera that I use for just some street stuff better candid portrait if I do that or a just a particular small job that I need to do on a day I just grabbed that camera and one lens and a way I go I actually think that having separate cameras separates the task. Have a great day.

For landscape it is only wasting of your money - buy the used Z7 for 1/5 of price of the Z8 and you will have the same quality. Landscape doesn't run that fast :)))

@@bernieshore actually, the Z7ii has the DR / IQ advantage, but not by much depending on the ISO you use. Seriously Bernie, the z8 is a great tool, so much to work with. I was going to pick that up, over the D850, but went for a z9 instead. it was 1500 more :). OUTSTANDING ARTWORK! You have a great eye, and it does not matter what camera you put in your hands, yes?
