Point: You can use a third party app and add stickers frames and filters how much you want then save that photo to your phomn and then print it out on these. oh and also the leeplay does come with more frames that 7 already packed in butinside of the app to access em.

Such a beautiful area, I am most envious! I also have the Z 800PF, great lens and I almost always go handheld as a) it is very manageable and b) I find the tripod too restrictive and slows me up too much therefore missing opportunities.

The FM 2 is a great camera. However, a number of users see it as having a serious design flaw. If you are a left-eye shooter,, the film advance lever will protrude into your forhead when the meter is turned on and the shutter is unlocked. Although the original FM had a shutter lock collar around the shutter release, the engineers at Nikon decided at some point to eliminate it. The shutter lock mechanism on later FMs and FM2s was moved to the film advance lever. Unless the film advance lever was pulled away from the body the shutter remained locked (and the meter was off). This created the problem described above. I have asked numerous camera technicians if this could be changed. The answer was always 'no'.

Greetings, located your page on an older outdoor gear topic, saw your wildlife images and the Z8/Z800 6.3 topic and started watching. The Z8 and the Z800 in my go to for bird and wildlife. Your images are outstanding, watching is definitely inspiring me to get out there more.

Agreed, the six element Planar or Xenotar are by many standards sharper than their 2.8 counterparts, but you will still need a good copy and sometimes a focus adjustment or collimation is needed

And so Fuji releases a 500mm f/5.6 lens for both GFX and X-mount. Curious if you switched systems or plan to try to pick up this very affordable, quite awesome lens? I can say that I absolutely love my X-T3 camera, but I can also readily admit I fight it from time to time enough to make me want to find the "upgrade", despite knowing it quite well at this point. I'm considering all other systems at this point, especially Nikon and Canon, if Fuji doesn't delivering something special whether through updates to the 5th gen bodies, or superior 6th gen bodies - at that $2,000-$3,000 price point, there are simply too many very, very good options out there to pass up forever. I sure do like working with the film sims however, and generally have liked the price/performance ratio. I'm even considering a backward move into used DSLRs - totally different experience but man, there are some bodies+lenses that just "get the shot" and no arguing with the image quality (or AF quirks) at times either.

How did you mount your camera to the tripod?

Back in the early 80’s Nikon launched 2 great SLRs, the F3 in 1980, and the FM2n in 1983; it’s virtually impossible to decide between the two, I love the F3 for it’s large 100% eye-level viewfinder, and it’s waist-level viewfinder. I love the FM2n for it’s mechanical shutter-curtain, and the size of the FM2n; if the FM2n had a larger 100% eye-level viewfinder, and a waist-level viewfinder the FM2n would have been even better; nevertheless the FM2n is a joy to use.

Just wondering, have you looked at using a GFX body with an adaptor to full frame lenses? That would give you access to a wider variety of lenses.

I know this video is a few months old, but curious to hear your thoughts on Fuji's new XF500mm f/5.6. Seems like a decent aperture for equivalent 700+mm focal length.

Yes, if one could afford the Z8, then get it and rest easy. It is truly a jack of all trades, something that will reward the owner. Also, what lens you use for your shoots is also vital. Great video bro

I don't know it you saw, but Fujifilm just announced a version of the 500mm f/5.6 lens for their X-mount. Used with the X-T5, that will essentially give you 750mm with 40 megapixels (plenty of room to crop from there, if needed), at probably the lightest form factor for anything in the 750-800mm focal range (for prime lenses) currently available in any camera system. Given your experience with the Fujifilm system, I'd be curious to hear your opinion of whether that might work as a good walkaround kit for people who do a lot of songbird photography, but also a lot of hiking.

I think if one starts off with the 280-600, they should keep it & then add the 800pf. My only long lens is the 200-500 (still using a D810) & although I have to do some heavy cropping for most photos, there are times when I need to zoom out. Of course a lot of the times I go out & if something is not around which is mostly coastal migratory, I’ll shoot anything. On a long distance trips like you mention, would be better to have both, heck, even local.Wouldn’t make sense to go without a backup.
