Nikon Z8 vs Z6III Comparison

1) - Z6iii has better EVF than Z8, 2) - mechanical shutter is awesome for sports& action photography (no rolling shutter), 3) - lighter than Z8 and less pricey, 4) better for videography. In every other aspect the Z8. For me, not one of them necessary. Own the D800&D500. Much more than enough for a "hobby". Good glass is also not cheap as you all know.

The Z8 has no rolling shutter. The dynamic range is lower because of the lack of mechanical shutter but the rolling shutter is not a problem.

I have sony A7C and the Tamron Trinity 17-28-75/70-180 in lenses. I've used Nikon system before 2021 for 10 years and still find the colors of my old pictures much better. Thinking about switching to Nikon Z6iii or Z8. Would it be worth to switch now or wait for a few years and keep using the A7C with Tamron Trinity and switch later?

It depends how long you can tolerate the colors with your current gears. And also the budget. I would change soon because if wait few years new model come out again

Every camera colors are just different, Nikon and Canon colors may be easier to work with when shooting people, but I find the neutrality of Sony colours more transformable to anything you like, it's just about learning something new.

I am using the Z9 since launch and I am prefer the tilting screen of it (and Z8) much more. But it is a shame that you are not possible to tilt it more than 45° downwards 😢

My D750 went out and now I’m looking at the z6iii and the Z8 the Z8 was my first pick . I want to focus on travel videos, car builds, mainly and pictures is the cherry on top . I don’t know what to pick. Z6 @ current $2300 smaller, and articulating screen (cons I’ve heard: dynamic range, controls, memory writing one card at a time, more noise) for the money both lack AF but make up in so many more areas. One is 24 MP and the other 45 mp . It’s nice one has 6k and the other 8k I doubt I’ll be running that but being able to crop and keep quality is top tier . I hate to buy the Z8 and shorty after they drop something with RED features and better AF

Honestly if your only gonna use the camera for travel and car builds just get the z6iii it’s smaller for travel and 6k is more than enough you don’t need 8k or 45mega pixel, trust me I just got the z6iii like a week ago and it’s awesome, don’t be fooled by all the KZbinrs that make over exaggerated videos just for views, and the autofocus DOES NOT lack in these new Nikons.

Man it seems you never had a nikon. Nikon has a feature that gives you various resolution raw files. There is a small raw a medium one and the original 46 mp. I shoot at medium most of the time at 25 mp on my d850. Welcome to nikon world mate

If I can get Zf&Z6III&Z7II all at same price and I want to pair with 28-400mm lens and maybe 14-30mm in the future, which one make more sense as a fun camera to record everyday and artistic shoots of all kind, video are not as frequent I think. Zf Pro: Tactic experience and I can DIY wrap it in yellow colour which is my favourite color Con: Grip Z6III Pros: Speed but I don't need that and 4K 60fps nearly/full sensor 1080p 240fps Con: Lower DR close to APSC some said? Z7II Pros: 45mp but it isn't 2X noticeable resolution than 24mp and do that 28-400mm lens able to resolve the resolution? And also tilt screen Con: Not retro like Zf and might not able to wrap it in yellow colour and will it looks as good as Zf? Is Zf really make fun to use or its just hipster trend of wanting to expericene the older ways while the elder want the modern improvement way? People see Zf as beautiful but is it just a psychological play of nostalgia and one day DSLR and Mirrorless will be a beauty to the eyes once camera looks very different to the current look in the future?
