Thank you, I am trying hard to love the ZFc, I don't care about the build since I have the Z8, I use the ZFc for walk around, so I don't need it to be amazing when it comes to the build. When I say I'm trying hard to love it, is because I get a lot of noise in lower light, what is the highest ISO you would go with this camera? Thanks. I'm also trying hard not to spend any more money and get the ZF, yet, lol... I'm tempted to but I want to give the ZFc a chance, it is just that the image quality seems bad at certain ISO levels..

Oh, you’re getting a lot of noise? As far as I know, the camera has the same sensor as the Z30 and the Z50. Both of these have good image quality, as well. To be honest, I haven’t shot that much at high ISO with the Zfc, but in the past, I have shot high ISO with the Z50 and never had problems. I remember comparing the Z50 noise with my D750 full frame DSLR and the Z50 was just slightly worse in terms of noise. Colour noise was worse, but colour noise is easily fixable in post. The highest ISO I would go with? It’s hard to say. If I’m shooting something very important, I’d stay under 1000. But I’d do the same with any camera, including the ZF, for example. For anything else, I’d go up to 6400 if I have to. If it’s just photos for social media, noise is hard to see and a little bit of noise can give an image character. Maybe you just got used to superb image quality of your Z8 and that’s why the Zfc seems like an underperformer.

Thanks man for responding. Yeah, I think I got used to the amazing dynamic range of the Z6ii and now the Z8 😅... I agree with everything you said, it does have great image quality as long as you don't go over as you suggested 6400 which is my new limit, but I haven't tried it yet, I will should and not go over 6400 and see what happens. Thank you so much, I hope this keeps me from spending on the ZF at least for a while, lol, keep up the good work. Let's go #Nikon lol @@visualsbyst

I typically try to stay below iso 4000. Which is way better than my last APSC camera but dismal compared to a z6. If I know I need to shoot in low light I use the 24 mm 1.7 and bounced flash.

Thanks man, I hope this will save me from buying the ZF until I truly can instead of using credit lol, I will set my maximum to 4000 then... thanks @@patrickstonetree1

Sprry, but you need to do your research. The black leatherette is plastic, but the frame/silver parts are a magnesium alloy, not plastic. Pretty misleading...

Spryy, but you haven’t done your research, either. Parts of it are actually aluminum. What’s misleading is that Nikon hides a lot of things from its customers. The frame is magnesium alloy, but it doesn’t specify if that includes the top and bottom plate. The battery door is plastic. Nice research you’ve done there, Mr. Researcher. Regardless, I’m reviewing the camera from consumer’s perspective. I don’t really care what it says on paper - the camera feels cheap and plasticky. It is not worth the money they’re charging and I’m standing by everything I said in the video. Overall, it’s a decent camera if you can get it at a heavily discounted price.

Huh, some misnomers here…I have two and love them. I grab the Zfc for a shoot before grabbing my Sony a7R4 believe it or not. Love the colors and dynamic range that much better. The top, dials and chassis are all a lightweight magnesium alloy, so the camera is mostly metal, save for the bottom plate, and the “leatherette” part of the body. However I do agree the battery door is cheapie feeling. The price for the body only here in the US is $850 or $1150 with a kit lens. I traded in a couple of old lenses and one broken old Sony a72 body and paid only $400 for a new Zfc and the fantastic little 12-28 Powerzoom lens. It was infinitely worth it. The second one I bought mint used along with a 16-50 lens for $600. Dislikes: I wish it was a bit more substantial feeling and had two card slots, but otherwise no complaints! 😉

That’s cool. I agree with the image quality part. The materials are unknown, though. They are not all magnesium alloy, probably. Even on Nikon site somewhere, I found that the dials are actually aluminum. The frame is listed as magnesium alloy, but it doesn’t say if that includes the top and bottom plate. That might just be the frame inside. On other reputable sites, information about the build is anywhere from “the top and bottom plate are plastic”, to “the top plate is some kind of metal and the bottom plate is plastic”, to “top and bottom plate are some kind of metal”. So I don’t know. I think it has a cheap feel. Everything else is fine.

@@visualsbyst Yes, I didn’t really articulate properly that it has a somewhat cheap feel and I wish it felt more substantial, I agree with you on that. I’ve seen exploded views that show it to be mostly metal with textured plastic covering on the body and plastic bottom plate, but true, it doesn’t feel enough like it. At the end of the day, the menus, processor speed, AF and image quality from the Nikon sensor has brought me back to Nikon. This has been a great stepping stone to either a Zf or maybe a Z7II as my next big camera, replacing the Sony. 😉
