Orianthi is a babe who plays guitar. Paul Smith brought her to the US to market PRS guitars. I had high hopes and expectations of her 11 years ago when she was only 19. Over a decade later, and she's playing other people's songs and latches onto aging rockers, still playing just basic chords and scales.

Well being an excellent musician doesn't guarantee success, short term or long term. People don't understand the market is over saturated with excellence, ergo excellence doesn't mean that much anymore in my opinion. Latching on the Ritchie Sambora seem's a little cheap.

I''ve been playing guitar before Orianthi was born. I've toured nationally and I now I teach. Orianthi was very promising 11 years ago when Paul Reed Smith brought her to the US to market PRS guitars, as essentially who could play guitar. (She conveniently left that part out.) I followed her for years with high expectations. Then she had 4 years of upward success and a hit song.. 11 years later, Orianthi is famous for playing cover songs but she's still stuck to basic chords and scales, leads and solos with no soul whatsoever, and a habit of latching on to washed up rockers. It's rare when a musician regresses but Orianthi has. She lacks the most important root to rock music - the ability to play and express soulful blues. It's all rooted in the blues, the important factor that Orianthi lacks.

OK...ive been playing longer than She is old also....SO WHAT? Ive probably been playing longer than YOU TOO....So FUCKING WHAT.? You remind me of Mark Donahue impressing himself by calling the "Rear Roll Center of the Mangusta Too High".....like most critics...the only thing too high was Mark. 40.00 worth of bush mounts improperly used to hang the ZF, caused the foul camber problems. The video She did with Vai....done in a day...no prerehearsal....worked it, the choreography, in a day.........Zappa...."I like one chord music, cuz then the lead guitar effects the changes" toss the fucking metronome...i cant stand one meter shit.....take your fucking pleasure where you find it.

I saw Led Zeppelin in 70 & 72,,,Plant, as usual, was off key....as usual, too fucking loud, as usual, Page wasnt on. I grew up on ONE & TWO....Page was genius in studio.....but the band SUCKED live.....i WALKED out mid show in 72.....so if Jimmy Page is Your Virtuoso example.....i refer to my first comment.....TOO HIGH on Your own bullshit.

She is a virtuoso guitar player.. that's why she joins in on so many legendary bands and plays THEIR music... I don't think she is a strong songwriter.. her strength is being a flawless guitarist

She cannot play the blues and the blues is the basis, the roots, for music including rock, jazz, funk, and even hip-hop and rap. She lacks the soul and meaning. Technique will only go so far, especially when you stick to the basics such as minor and major chords and scales. 11 years after hitting the US music scene, she had 4 years of upward fame (mostly due to her looks) but she is still just famous for playing cover tunes. Her looks catapulted her success but she got lazy. She's no longer creating anything new at all.
