I had a very dear friend that i wrote back and forth with...yes, with paper! she passed away a few years ago and i have a box of all her cards, many with features that gave them alot of dimension. i've struggled with what to do with them, and i think a lap book would work perfectly. you've given me soooo many ideas of how to layer and overlap and magnetize and such...so that i can look through them from time to time..thank you :)

Time spent watching you make stuff is time well spent. My brain is churning ideas a mile a second. This was a great project that I cannot wait to see how it will be interpreted by your fans and followers. The last lapbook was certainly a firestorm generator. I bet this will be an even greater one because of the many different ways it can be interpreted.

I am going to have to steal that cover embellishment. That is super awesome. I have a similar circle cutter. To cut the rings I cut the inner circle first and then the outer ring so that the paper is still held well inside/ under the cutter.

I've been trying to wrap my head around how to make an oversized lapbook to hold all of my papers, stickers, and other journaling supplies. it would be huge, but if it could open out flat with a split cutting mat surface on the very inside, it could become an amazing one stop creative shop.

New sub and floored. Awesome vid! The circle cutter thing cracked me up, I'm sorry, but when you said the blades were broken and it came that way, I instantly felt a kinship! Fun trick for cutting circles, get yourself a pair of mini manicure scissors or beard grooming scissors, the ones that are slightly curved at the tip, as you cut along the line, the slight curve cuts right around the circle giving you a seamless shape at the end. I figured this out on accident one day when my scissors was too blunt and all I had were a pair of curved scissors. Add it to your crafting kit. And You’re welcome. 😅

I hadn't heard of a lap book until I watched your "From discarded to regarded" videos. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that series. I made a journal with a sewing theme a few years ago for my best friend who lives in England. She was putting me up (or was it putting up with me?) for a couple of weeks after my Mum passed. She loved it but wasn't sure what to do with it, so when I decided I wanted to make something else for her it couldn't be an ordinary journal. I had asked in several groups on Facebook what I could do. She loves to go walking with her husband, especially since lock-down and covid. I knew I wanted something that she could use to store any items she might pick up along the way - such as feathers, seeds, flowers, etc. She lives about 5 miles from Sherwood Forest so their walks are often woodland type walks. I can see how your lap book would be perfect for her - BUT I could never accomplish what you have done here, but there are so many aspects/ideas that I love in your book. I was thinking of doing a little travel journal type insert for each season, but not quite sure how to incorporate them yet, but your accordion-folded files might be perfect! I have to go away and stew on it for a while. I can't wait too long, though or else Spring will be here before she gets her book!! I know I have rambled on, but I wanted you to know how grateful I am for all you share and so honestly, and freely. I have already been doing a little simple designing in Design space for some bookplates and tags/labels etc.
