The whole time you were painting the water lilies I kept thinking those are such beautiful water lilies and was so happy to see you finished it as a painting!! Love the mood of it and I hope you frame it as it is really a beautiful serene painting!! If you don't already have some canvasses you better get some and keep channeling your inner Monet. 🎨

SO fun!!! One of my favorite play dates with my old calligraphy teacher and some others was spent making paste papers! She got access to her class room at the community college where she taught so there was a lot of large surface to work upon. I do not think we got the paper moist to do it. It has been close to 20 years ago so I might be a bit hazy in that. We did make a gallon of wallpaper paste and with maybe 10 of us pasting up a storm, there was still a lot left over! It was a hot summer's day. The doors to the deck were open and clean stones were available to keep those papers from flying away. I tried a lot of different weight papers and the lighter ones were the best for actually using. The heavier cardstock cracked when covering books. I regret that I have not done it since! By the time I was done, I had figured out a lot of ways to get the color down. I still have a lot of them - need to refresh myself on this! Oh, and I adore your venture into water lilies! That kind of thing absolutely would make fabulous end papers! I was wondering if any had torn in the process and was definitely hoping that THIS would make it! Fun, fun, fun!!!!

Each time, at some point, I would screech, “oh no, she’s botched this one!” and my husband would look up and say, “don’t you think you’re the one who’s botched?”, but every time you pulled it off. I’m amazed! I’ve seen, and even done some paste paper, but most of it looked like kindergarten art. That last one should go into a frame, not in a book. All of them had a repetition that didn’t seem possible. Go ahead and photocopy the last one, but then definitely put it in a frame! Bless you darlin’❣️🙏🏼

That water image is beautiful! I am for sure doing this! I could not bring myself to add another expense and lots of additional supplies to do marbling stuff, though I really wanted to. But this I can handle! Now to create a work station I can get messy, because if its messy, I will make it 10 times worse. Lol Thanks for the intro to this!

I really like the one that looks like roads! I saw somebody on KZbin do this with Aladine Izink paste and it didn't come out as well as yours. The woman said that stuff was very sticky. It seemed almost too dry. She had a hard time making marks in it. I think Izink is made to dry quickly, so I guess it would need to be watered down first before putting it onto the paper.

I am more likely to try this than marble paper, at least the cornstarch version! I don't have space to dry the sheets of paper, though (or only one at a time, if I don't cook, but that would really be too troublesome) so maybe more in summer where I can put the paper outside to dry in the garden. TFS, this is great! :)
