I went out to see a comedian yesterday who used this song as an intro or opening before his set, and now I'm obsessed with it. The audience was waiting for the set to start and chatting while the lights were on and different songs were playing, and when this song came on, and I immediately thought "wow this song sounds cool"... but during the second chorus, the lights dimmed, the spotlights focussed on the stage, and this this dude in a green suit walks up on the stage perfectly timed to 'Is it put in black and white? // The minute I'm not in control, I'm tearing up inside', saying something like 'beautiful people... how are you doing?', and the crowd just went berserk with cheers. It's crazy how timing, visuals and chord progressions, and cheering can make you feel part of a group. Gotta see this live someday!

a lifetime of trauma and severe mental illness, I almost feel I've been forced onto the spiritual path with no alternative. It's the only thing that gives me any reconciliation for the chaos ive endured. I'm battle worn and tired now and it's like no matter what I do no matter how good the intention, little works out. I've found value in simple things and my dog and learnt to discern what is my illness, what is my psychology and what is my spirituality. It's been a lonely road and I can't see that changing. But I'm somewhat at peace with tht and have my dog and animal friends. I too feel I self sabotage although not consciously, I think it's self preservation and avoiding abandonment. I do what I can and help where I can but know my limitations. My experiences have left me very much an outsider and observer of this world. I feel strongly the suffering and sadness. But all this horror I truly believe has made me a more caring, compassionate, understanding, loving, human being. The more that has been taken away from me the more I realise how little I need. The grand desires I once had of romantic love, and acceptance and a loving family and my own children. The more I feel although wonderful are distractions from true subtle eternal love for all conscious beings I now feel. all the best xxx
