This one is in my top 3 on this album. The chorus hooks are some of the most beautiful I’ve heard in a pop song. Her style is incredibly diverse, but this is the first time I feel a bit of a Suzanne Vega vibe, especially in the verses. I’ve been a lifelong Suzanne Vega fan since age 16, and this song takes me down memory lane to the ‘Beauty & Crime’ era of her work (‘Edith Wharton’s Figurines’ especially comes to mind). I sure hope Nilüfer’s music career lasts as long as Suzanne’s has.

This artist continues to me amaze and captivate me with the way she expresses herself through her music. You can really hear the maturation of her voice, her melodies, and her themes when you compare this song to some of her earlier ones, but her entire body of work is just very much *her*, if that makes sense. I've been to a bunch of concerts and shows this year but hands-down the LA show in October is the one I've been looking forward to the most because I absolutely need to experience this live. Thank you for putting your art out into the world, Nilüfer!

She’s come back to me! In 2022 it sounded like she wanted to push all of her tracks to the front of the speakers to win the loudness wars and I hate the loudness wars. She has every right to do whatever she wants because she’s the artist…but my ears just can’t go to the loudness wars with her. So I thought thank you Nilufer Yanya for being the the amazingly talented 4 hit wonder that you became in my life. The work she was doing between 2019 - 2021 felt like to me that she was the most exciting artist in the music business at that moment in time. I will listen to “Baby Blu”…”In My Head”…”Same Damn Luck”…and “Day 7.5093” for the rest of my life. So I thought it’s important for her artistically to win the loudness wars and I can’t go there with her. So it’s over. But I’ll love those 4 songs in 3 years. But now she’s come back to me. At least for 2 more songs…I haven’t listened to the whole album yet but “Ready For Sun (Touch)” and “Just A Western” makes my top 40 songs of the year and feel like they could climb high on that list…and I can listen to “Midnight Sun” and “Anotherlife” at a softer level…but it felt like production wise she’s going away from what I want. Unfortunately I had to walk away from Caroline Polachek for the same reason. She wants to win the loudness wars. I hate this mind set in the industry right now. So at least for a few more songs I get to artistically dance with Nilufer Yanya. I’ll take the non loudness wars material for as long as I can get it. It’s thrilling to listen to music like this. What a true talent.
