I’ve been drumming for over 1/2 of my lifetime, and this might be the best drum solo I’ve ever seen. That tom roll was inhuman. Had to rewatch it and slow mo it several times to really grasp what he was doing. Glad to see Virgil is getting some love on KZbin lately.

The occasional click you hear is not actually Virgil accidentally hitting his sticks together, but a sonic boom from the stick breaking thru the sound barrier!

That crazy fast movement around the kit around the 1:40 mark. How in the hell? Most people don't even put their drums in places like that. Much less move that fast between them without missing a beat.

He misses beats, allright. You can hear the woodwork of the sticks a couple of times.

those two feet doubles tho! holy FCK!!
@mikkeykottak6 жыл бұрын
jet rage Are you sure they’re doubles? I think he might be just using a sweeping technique going back and forth on the pedal. Which uses one motion but two hits. And playing the feet single strokes. But I may be wrong.

Usually I’ve enjoyed Vergils drumming styles, but in this particular video clip I wasn’t really impressed because he only did one trick the whole time. He didn’t put any variety into a solo. It was basically how fast and how many notes could you fly around the drum kit for a few minutes. It would’ve been more exciting to see much more variety and some grooves.
@nilamedia3 жыл бұрын
This video consists of 10 parts with 1 minute clip. The whole show was 1 hour and you will probably find what you are looking for in what I have cut out. Glad you didn't see the transitions though :-)
