In case anyone is interested in the mythology referenced here: Ixion was a king in Greek mythology, maybe a son of Ares. He got into a dispute with his father in law, invited the guy to dinner, and had him killed. None of his neighbors wanted to have anything to do with him after that, so Zeus was curious and invited him to dinner. Our guy Ixion hits on Zeus's wife. He ends up *bound to a burning spoked wheel* to wander the sky forever. Romulus and Remus were twins who founded Rome. Only they argued over which him to build it on, so Romulus killed Remus. Some unrelated thoughts regarding "self-similar" space: Self-similarity is closely related to fractals. There are many structures in nature that are approximately fractal (coastlines, plants, etc). Self-similarity in time implies that shifts in space are equivalent to a proportional shift in time. So wherever you go, if enough time passes you'll end up somewhere that will eventually look exactly like where you left...

Since it seems the remans only convert about 40% of the crew, it would be nice to be able to do both endings and send the crew that wasn't transformed to Romulus, allowing them to live on as well.

... about that.... The 'waste' produced in the plant-ification machine... The amount of waste produced matches the number of people 'unconverted.' ... And the population counter decreases *by* that 60%, not the 40% that are turning into plant hippies. ... Yeah.... This ending is kinda horrifying on multiple levels.

Amazing series. The game is spectacular and with you playing it feels just right. The remus ending is really bad. The romulus felt a little better but not much. Its a little disspointing to see a great game with 2 bad endings but you can't have them all can we. Thanks so much Nilaus for this incredible series. And keep up rocking 🤘

The final chapter is sad for the fact that it seems extremely likely from the sudden drop in the pressure and gameplay that had been building up to this point, that they ran out of time or budget and had to rush the finish line. a lot of plot threads that were being built up to, and clues that had been seeded up to this point go abandoned in favor of this weird 'green or brown' pick your ending. That after chapter 1 being to investigate wth happened and salvage the Ixion drive, chapter 2 to find and then rescue the protagoras, chapter 3 and the ominous hunt through the wrecks with the threat of the storm, chapter 4 and the AI ship hunting you so aggressively and all the mechanics behind that and beating it (without much doubt given the ending of the encounters), and all of these chapters having stunning visuals and most of them FMV cutscenes to..... 'do a couple research projects, listen to a dissertation of monologues about how stinky humans are from listless space hippys with no hope and no future, and the 'twist resurrection' of the big bad that you confirmed destroying in the chapter before... menacingly crawling towards the space hippys... with an end cutscene of 2 still images with some more monologues over top and next to zero closure... it's sad because it was such a good game up to chapter 5, and I'm hoping they revamp or at least improve it a bit or expand on it to give some proper closure in the future, because it just feels so slap-dash rushed to hit a deadline compared to the gems of the other chapters. I've even seen a number of fan theories ranging from the Ashtangites not being real but Edden trying to manipulate you, or Romulus truly being this false hope hell that will just kill everyone, and trying to tie it into the abandoned plot elements but when it comes down to it... it just screams 'rushed ending' to me

What I'm trying to understand is how you were able to get so many workers for the areas of the Tiqqun that you required. At the last iteration and update of the game, the Cryo bay is not linked to the policy to defrost only workers (I have reason to believe it's bugged still?). So seeing you have several hundred crew per sector and most, if not all of your working needs met by working crewmembers boggles my mind. My current playthrough has a 1-to-3 ratio of workers to non-workers, and even if I set the policy for workers first on defrost it still produces only non-workers as a periodic result. I'm not entirely sure how to get the crew system to work as you have. It seems like you're on an entirely different version of the game where the system is fixed. I've run cache integrity repairs twice on the game through steam in the event something was bad on my playthrough, but I think I'm just unlucky? Hah. Especially since the storms on the planets in the backgrounds are bugged and appear as rounded squares right now. It doesn't seem like there's been any news of a patch or bugfix release as of yet either (likely due to the holidays recently). But fingers crossed for that news soon. Thank you for the series and, should you have any insight, thank you for that as well.
