I don't think he's feeling any pain at this point anymore lol, he just stated that Niles stuff is challenging cause its so fast, what we're seeing is probably his concentrated face

***** Ah, I for my part am at 220bpm now, I can keep it for around 5-7 minutes, with a lot of warm up.. And George, as well as me being inspired greatly by him, uses the "Swivel Technique", where you swing your heels sideways (not too far though, that'd be bad for the knees!), which, in my experience gives a little bit more leverage in playing, while also cleaning up the bass drum single stroke roll, because you have the inwards-outwards motion, for me it looks like this; Right Heel Outwards, Left Ankle Out, Right in, Left in. You see, that's a straight group of four notes, so playing it fast, you get your 16th stroke rolls very easily and clean, so you can concentrate on other things when you got used to it :) Also, I personally think that Blast Beats and Double Bass are a ton of fun to play, and that "drums in this genre being boring" is a matter of the drummer. Of course on these speeds there's less to not really any room for groove, but the fills, accents and patterns some extreme drummers use can be very entertaining, if not amazing to listen to and watch, but that might just be a matter of taste.
