this is the problem for me. they sound completely predictable and not at all passionate in their compositions, all more and more leaning towards that raw brutality and technicality that people expect from them and not at all trying to do what they used to do best: capture the very same picture that the theme and lyrics of the songs created in audio, resulting in magnificent songs such as masturbating the war god and many many others until ithyphallic as the last of their great albums. this stuff nowadays just mostly sounds dead to me with very little exceptions.

+Missy Mortiis Well I didn't say that, I was just saying they are more techincal than Plague Rider, and used those songs as only a few examples. Nile is however one of the most techincal while still remaining worth while. The only reason they aren't the very most techincal is because they are smart and remember to actually compose repeatable songs. Origin for example are more conisistantly tech, but are no where near as memorable or creative as Nile. It isn't fun when you listen to an album and then as soon as it's over, you can't remember one thing that actually happened. As far as "most techincal" mixed with "great song writers" I think Nile are among the greatest. Karl, Dallas, and Goerge make up a tech death dream team.

Okay... Don't kill me for this... I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE Nile fan.... And I'm really digging this new cd, but as far as the mixing goes with the cd, am I the only one that feels that it sounds a little flat? Grab the cd and listen to it on a nice speaker system in the car or house.... To me it sounds a bit flat.... But as always the riffs, drums, vocals, lyrics are all amazingly on point.

+Leonidas Diamandopoulos you didn't understand what I said. if you think Christianity empowers you, good for you, but the very idea that doing bad things will net you misfortune and thus humble you while doing good things will net you fortune and thus arrogance is a catch 20 20. it's like any other idea that seeks to explain away random accordanceses such as karma, fate, prophesy, divination, destiny or luck. they are just naïve attempts to excuse the fact that good and bad things happen to good and bad people, it has nothing to do with morality. kind of

Vic Vil mix is basicly just means the volume of the instruments and vocals, and the sounds. and in my opinion the bass could be a bit louder, and there is no dynamics in the guitar sound. but maybe its just me
@therealeleusis
@therealeleusis 9 жыл бұрын
Troels Jakobsen Dude a mix is a helluva lot more than what you listed...what you listed is more along the lines of the Mastering process which happens AFTER mixing. Yener Ozturk is right though...KZbin is not very audio quality friendly so you have to listen with a bit of an understanding you're not getting CD quality audio. Hit the little settings button to the left of the box to make video picture larger/full screen and you can get this video to play in 720 HD which is video quality but it slightly improves the audio. The mix on this song and the Call to Destruction are fantastic...guitars are full and tight but also very warm and the fast stuff has way more clarity than older albums. The drums are nice and tight and push air very nicely. I agree with Vic Vil though about the bass. The frequencies are there but you cant hear a bass guitar being played and I really hate how the happens on most metal records. Just listen to Blacky's bass guitar on the early VoiVod records or Doug Pinnick's bass on any King's X song...you can hear the bass being played as well as the guitar or anything else. Overkill has always had great bass. I wish Nile would just get a bassist already...somebody with not only skill but has tone that you can hear.
@therealeleusis
@therealeleusis 9 жыл бұрын
I agree in part...look at Meshuggah who also tune way way down...can clearly hear the bass on their stuff and not only hear it but without it half their tone would be completely gone. I find when mixing bass that if you wanna hear the instrument actually being played then you have to raise the mids. I do agree though that when you are tuned way low the faster the music is played the more the clarity gets lost and frequencies build up that muddy things up. Metal is a fickle bitch to record...always has been and i suspect always will be. Cheers!!

Impossible to dislike Nile. I think they would even captivate every pop music fan if they'd give it a serious go.

I've never had a problem with recognising who is the composer of Nile's song. Great piece of Dallas's riffing.

What are the attributes of the evil casting out the evil, and the evil itself? What are the long-term benefits? And, what of the overall effects of such a setup from various angles? Is X more prosperous because they have spent x amount or resources casting out evils by evil? Does Y prosper longer than X because their methods are 30% less evil?
