Exactly like if you plan to marry somebody, especially an African woman or a man before you even think about it research their culture because their culture is different than American culture down in America. You can propose to somebody and you can wait for the wedding for weeks or months or even years, but Africa no if you propose to somebody Africa, you should be ready to get married and be prepared. So I don’t feel sorry for this man. He chose to go to the store and get that ring. He also chose to propose to her on the phone and propose to herat that place and he’s like oh well I didn’t wanna ruin the moment so when are you gonna tell her that you have to postpone the wedding? As a fellow autist who struggles with social skills I've gotta jump in to defend mans here Yes 💯 he did lie and dig himself the hole... But do you know the hell of social interaction when you've got autism? It's a 50/50 scenario; yes you handled it wrong but yes the tism certainly didn't help the situation. He was just avoiding the anticipation of a let down, the emotional toll of disappointment and letting someone down etc etc like it is quite autistic of him to do so, thats all he's trying to explain It's not an excuse like my this , my that; you can see how awkward he is conversationally. I cringed twice this recap

It's crazy to me that she planned an entire wedding, knowing that no one in his family would be present. Why didn't she tell him about the bride price and knocking ceremony before he got to ghana? It's not all on Niles, to figure out. Her customs is also on her to explain them because he could not prepare for something.He had no idea was required of him.

Although I am rooting for Miles and Matilda, I can't help but notice that they don't really communicate. She fails to tell him that she has her Aunt or Mom organizing a big wedding while he is there. When he is worried about the bride price and asks her how much that will be and what is expected of him she says "I don't know"...although she has already given the camera team a complete list of gifts that are expected. I feel she doesn't really have his back: She is in her country and speaks the language - yet she doesn't bother to negotiate prices when he is being charged too much. Besides "I love you" and "I love you more" they don't really communicate much about cultural differences - her explaining the importence of various family members and their expectations of financial support before and after marriage. She hasn't told him about all the plans she has for the wedding and that her family expects him to foot the bills for it. He needs security and likes to plan things to feel in control of the situation...she is "surprising" him with this whole wedding she is having organized and apoarently involves 200 people at least. I think she doesn't really care about what the family will come up with or how expensive it will be. As a young woman of 23 - of course she helps her mom at the market. However, she says that she doesn't like it. I have the feeling that she has no plans to be working in the U.S. once she can, in order to help her husband with the expences. He should have explained that he is not the "rich American" that she thinks he is. He needs to know more about her family structure and their expectations. Not only her culture needs to be understood and explained - but his too. "Sorry, but in America we do things differently and therefore I find this or that hard to understand". He needs to explain about the Visa application and costs invoved. If she cares as much about that as she does about his 20 life principles, well...🙄 She also doesn't seem to ask much about his family. Does she know them? Does she know how they feel about a rushed marriage...where his family is not even considered? Matilda is a fun person to be around, but somehow I think she is not too deep. She wants to be married, whisked away to a land of fun and excitment with no thought about who is going to pay for it all... When Matilda is displeased about something, it shows in her face and attitude immediately. I would not want to be around when she explodes, and I think Miles is intimidated by her. Does she know who from Miles' family and friends will be in her life in the future...? Does she care? I could add a bit more, but I will leave it at that and see how it all developes. Recently discovered these videos and love seeing your reaction to them😊

Which in the end will be a much better thing for her as well. It seemed that he is totally unprepared for her rush wedding. If she truly loves him then it shouldn’t be a big deal. And since there was no money put into this affair, that we know about, it’s ok. But I don’t understand why she didn’t tell him that there is a bride price and what it is before he left the states!
