I have another problem. I use Winbox v.6.40. VPN is working now, but... One colleague from his IP connected to VPN, but me not. I tried to use two computers (W10, W7), two differen internet providers, but no success. I got this eror message "The remote connection was not made because the attempted VPN tunnels failed. The VPN server might be unreachable. If this connection is attempting to use an L2TP/IPsec tunnel, the security parameters required for IPsec negotiation might not be configured properly.?" Why,? Why he connects and I don't.

Just check that TCP 1723 and IP 47 port are not being used by this IP.. if not Then you can use this IPs for vpn.

Hi, in your video, the client has an empty gateway, when is connected to VPN. Can the connected client ping any other computer in the LAN? for example the LAN is 192.168.1.0/24 (so router is 192.168.1.1, a server is 192.168.1.2 another server is 192.168.1.3 a printer is 192.168.1.4 etc. So when the client connect to VPN gets an IP from the DHCP pool (192.168.2.XXX), so how can ping 192.168.1.XXX (servers & printer)? Thanks in advance for your help!!

almost every PPTN server tutorial is missing to mention the firewall exception which needs to be added, otherwise it cannot work

Thanks for your Suggestions. I will try to add firewall portion in next time. For this tutorial my firewall portion was empty. That’s why I didn’t add.

Not working for me. No idea why or how to chech where the connection failure is. Connect from internet -> Huawei LTE (port forwarding configured) -> Mikrotik. I don't even know how to check if the connection is reaching the Mikrotik.

Did your provider provide you static IP ???
@ZenecadE4 жыл бұрын
@@TutorialSchools No. I tried with current IP as well as DynDNS.

Which ports did you forwarded?
@ZenecadE4 жыл бұрын
@@TutorialSchools On the Huawei, I opened router config then Virtual Server. I added an entry to forward traffic on port 1723 to Mikrotik WAN IP. I run this config specifically as my service provider likes to make me reboot my router and this used to affect my wife when she was working. The solution was to have the internet run on a separate network from the one we use. The Mikrotik is thus the gateway for the local lan to the huawei which then break out to the internet. I had a similar setup many years ago but that used SSL vpn which I cannot use any more since the firewall appliance I used back then died in a surge.

Also do forward 47 as well.

you do not have to create any firewall rules
@TutorialSchools5 жыл бұрын
Depends on your configuration. If you are using firewall then you have to add 47 & 1723 port.

Yes. If you are using firewall then you have to add this port. But here am trying to cover this without firewall.
