This was the first video I have watched of anyone using DRC, after a few months of playing with it, as a 'seasoned beginner'. It was encouraging, and motivationally instructive. Thank you!

wow wow very good job! I'm discovering your channel and I love your tutorial and I will try your DRC plugin for sure. Do you have a tutorial to make a beautifully piano like for the sound of Guy Gerber - What to do (&me remix) or the piano of the Adriatique - Ray (Reincarnation)? It will so good to show us how to do a massive sound of piano. Thank you

The drums/percussion are always secondary to the synth sound design, but check out our Ableton Live projects which have some drum processing on them.

i understand filter and modulation. But together as ' filter modulation', I don't. The parameter that you were hanging at 3.20 sounds like vibrato to me. Could you explain more on that?
@ImaginandoPt Жыл бұрын
On the time stamp you are refering to, i am on the page of the MOD Wheel modulation, which are assignable. You can control the filter cutoff frequency with the MOD Wheel using that parameter. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your sharing. I have adjusted the timbre according to your method, but I don't understand the principle. I want to modify the overall rhythm on this basis. For example, this is a triad, and if I want to play a seventh or ninth chord, the rhythm will not sound good. Can you explain your modulation principle according to this modulation method?
@ImaginandoPt2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, and thanks for the input! If you notice carefully i'm not playing triads but actually i start with the 3rd inversion of a Cmaj7 with the C played on an octave below, so 4 notes are being played. What makes the rythm of the arpeggio sound so continuous and round is that the arpeggio is at 1/8 and the delay is an 1/8th dotted so they bounce of each other. So if you play a triad the rythm will clearly change, and you should adjust the delay on the Synth acordingly. I hope this helps!

Nicely done..one question in the ableton project it shows only 3 notes at the time is played (the arpeggio), but you are playing 5. can you explain why?
@ImaginandoPt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joost, that is because the arpeggiator is plying through two octaves and it is actually playing 6 notes. So 3 notes over two octaves, 6 notes.

I can't do it! such an insightful video, beautiful. But i tried like 5 times going each and every step and it sounds really different than yours. Bought the DRC and downloaded the DLYM - great instruments but for some reason something is different. Maybe from one of the other parameters you cant see in the video. Would love for a preset if anyone has it to learn what is missing. Great video Thanks!

Hi There! Thank you! Did you read this notice on the comments? this might be why! "ATTENTION: All Pre-Gain values for DRC in this video need to be lowered by 0.250. This is because this tutorial was made with an older version of DRC which had a different tuning on the saturation stage. We have corrected the values in the Ableton session." Hope this helps.

@@ImaginandoPt First of all super cool of you to answer and help. I did miss the notice. Do you mean just reduce 0.250 db in the pre gain of my DAW? (Cubase in my case). Tried it doesn't do much of a difference. I think the problem for me is somewhere in the amp envelope or something like that, you don't show that page on the video.I'm trying to nail the sound but still no luck. What am I missing now?

"Arpeggio, oscillator, square, filter, modulation, frequency"; all these nouns/verbs are pronounced more or less perfectly, however friend, the English pronunciation is "CUToff", not "caTOFF, and "DElay" is pronounced "deLAY. Also 5.52 should be pronounced 4.57, btw. You do have a lovely, rich, voice I should add.
