They used to be 6 back when Don't Cha came out. On the 2nd album Carmit left to do her own thing, so they become 5, I think Ashley's missing because she got to do a surgery on her cervix, she said she missed some performances because of that. Maybe this was one of them.

No. PCD was originally a dance group and literally hired Nicole to do the singing. They are all aware of that, signed a contract, and earning thousands of dollars for "back up dancing". Do your research first before bashing artists.

Actually the reason the playback comes on there, is that because in the studio version NICOLE didn't actually do the big notes, one of the other girls did. And since Nicole can't actually hit those notes live they usually put the playback there because they want everyone to think its Nicole.

The belted note at the end of the song is E5, which she has hit numerous times while performing this song, as well as other songs (with great ease, might I add, as she can belt even higher than that). Nicole is both a superb entertainer/performer and dancer (IN ADDITION to being a great vocalist), so incorporating the dance sequence was a way of showing off her skills in those particular areas.
