Although I agree that Nimrod should be a huge challenge for any mutant since he was designed to do just that, Apocalypse wasn't just a mutant. He had Celestial technology that in theory should have been light years ahead of the technology that Nimrod was made from. It really should not have been a close fight, and I wish they had found another way for Apocalypse to be neutralized rather than getting his ass kicked rather easily.
@ajanannamalai14435 жыл бұрын
Adam We I agree 😅but 1. sentinel technology develops at a vast rate (at one point they werent even sentinent) 2. A lot of omega level Mutant abilities would have been consumed by the sentinels in their battle against mutant kind
@darksideapoc5 жыл бұрын
I feel they need to give Apoc the respect he has been deserving. It's like each writer forgets what the other writer wrote before them. Apoc isn't even a mutant anymore, and he became more powerful in X-Men black series. I like Jonathon Hickman but he needs to do some research on Apocalypse. I really thought after the whole Black series that they were building up Apocalypse to be the main threat for the X-Men. They just need to take the time to see what other writers wrote on Apoc, so they can build up on him in a way that makes sense. I also agree that his Celestial Tech should not be able to breach. I mean when Rick wrote Uncanny Avengers and X-Force, he explained all about the Celestial Tech and how only the Life Seed and Thors ax could penetrate it (with the spell put on to the ax) I mean you even had Achangel (the new Apoc) going toe to toe with the AOA Jean with the Phx, but yet Nimrod is just so powerful enough to beat Apoc when not even Black Bolt giving it his all (CANON version) was able to defeat Apoc along with the rest of the Inhumans and X-Men giving it their all against him? It makes no sense and is the biggest case of PIS I have seen in comics.

@NimrodClover3 жыл бұрын
I have always considered Nimrod the ultimate and final Sentinel from when I initially read/saw the very first appearance. Nimrod was god tier and it just took several decades to understand from a story telling aspect that it was not so much a character but a story device (forgive the pun) - like a force of nature, a technological Moby Dick, or simply a way to expedite house-cleaning withing the Marvel universe. It is true, and history proves it, even stated in this video - Nimrod can defeat any terrestrial superhero/mutant/etc. Nimrod is the ultimate expression of the concept of inexorable force and overcoming any challenger. It does not happen very often in comics, but Nimrod is the personification of a story telling device, like foreshadowing, red herrings, or a MacGuffin... Nimrod is the inevitability of oblivion. This makes it ideal to act as a mirror to consider any other character and how they reconcile their own end. Also, I totally agree with the hierarchy of the Sentinel sequence. Nimrod was always the ultimate expression of this concept and the fact that its genesis is wholly within the framework for the Marvel/Mutant/X-man paradigm is perfect. It stops at Nimrod - literally. I would love to see a single poster of Nimrod hovering just above a mountain of potent fallen superheros, villains, and other Marvel characters of all types, bathed in that now signature electric fuchsia glow simply stating... "Program Complete" with a few lighting bolts and parting storm clouds for dramatic effect.

This feels like both a rebirth and a return to form. I love Hickman, always have. Thanks for the content man, you're the best.

I’ve always thought of Nimrod as being a second gen. Ultron, so John’s soft retcon here makes total sense to me. Personally, I think mother-mold is going to start harvesting people for Nimrod dev. and that’s why the very last timeline has a mutant contact the Phalanx as a possible shoe-in to counteract mother-molds ambitions. So yes, I think John will make allowances for the dev. of multiple Nimrod Sentinels.

Yes absolutely, it's annoying when people don't know the history of the word nimrod. Son of the African kingdom Cush, Nimrod builder of all of the cities in Mesopotamia; Babylon, Nineveh, SHINAR. Mighty Hunter and ruler of the first one world order post the biblical flood apocalypse. So powerful in fact, and so charismatic that God (Yahweh, Adonai, I am that I am, THE MOST HIGH) himself had to come down to thwart his one world order domination. The story of Genesis implies that if this kingdom persisted with the whole world unified under nimrod, the technology created would rival that of heaven, possibly causing another heavenly rebellion. Nimrod brought about complete human unity globally... Threatening heaven itself.

Ya, that's not how the law works. Just because you are a citizen of another country does not mean your are not subject to a different countries laws.

Amaaaaazing comic. Now, on a side note. I need an Nimrod vs Ultron video because they have such similar concepts I'm having a hard time reconciling them.

I'm excited about this, but I'm also so tired of the X-Men getting ganged up and extinctioned on!

I didn’t get the sense that omega sentinels eventually turn into nimrods. I think it’s more like, omega sentinels are to nimrods are as chimpanzees are to humans. They have a common evolutionary past (the sentinel program), but they are concurrent endpoints. For one, in POX, nimrod has a disdain for humans and for human-machine hybrids because they have an imperfect human origin. For two, there is an omega sentinel on the orchis station, but moira and apocalypse figured out that a nimrod can only come along after a mother mold is active. Therefore, if the xmen succeed in destroying the orchis station, nimrod won’t come along.

Seems like nimrod is a pure nano-particle based sentinel. Whereas omega sentinels are the humans with nano-particles added.

I've been very wary of the comics for a lot of outside reasons. I think this issue has pushed me over the edge. I'm a fan and will actually buy it. It's truly the best thing coming out of DC right now

So basically Terminator time travel logic, Back to the Future logic, Happy Death Day logic, and Endgame logic goes in this version of X-Men. With Moira in a timeline a Nimrod will still appear at some point, while something else probably replace it. Think of it, as a branchs of a tree, one can tore one branch, but another will grow in it's place. If, Moira has tried 10 times that means it leads to Nimrod or somebody she uses to eventually lead to her death isn't enough to stop the conflict then she needs to the find the root cause itself and figure out how to destroy before it will latch on and grow on what trigger affect is it that sets it off perhaps a person or a event.
