Just to help the people doing an AFK farm. Bind your action key (right click) to a key on your numpad i.e NUM 1. then once youve got that hold your key (num 1) and hold your Num Lock. Let go of both keys and now your character will just act as though you are holding down the key. This trick is currently being used by the Diablo 3 Community to do some auto casting and it works in Minecraft for about the same thing.

+Sickjoke419 Two problems I had that may be causing other people issues: 1) My hoppers were not connected properly. Make sure you point at the the block you are connecting the hopper to when you place it. This usually requires a shift+click. He glossed over this in the video, but if you look closely you can see exactly how to place each hopper. 2) I moved the door back one block initially for asthetic reasons. This caused items to fly behind me and disappear instead of falling in the hopper. Don't be stupid like me.

HAVING TROUBLE? Make sure you are right up next to the dropper. The trapdoor will stop opening and closing when you are close enough. The trapdoor should only close and reopen when you catch something. Hope this helps!

Built this last night in 1.9. After AFKing for 9 hours I got over 800 items, 1 1/2 stacks of puffer fish, a dozen name tags, a dozen enchanted bows, several enchanted fishing rads, several enchanted books, a bunch of other stuff and of course stack and stacks of fish. maybe Mindcrack. I don't like the way Hermitcraft is going now. I liked it before they move to 1.7. Now the server seems a bit off. It's not much of a community. It's people minding their own businesses. And everyone is burnt out from vanilla and are instead focusing on Modsauce. The reason I still watch it is because of Tango. Xisuma's all over the place at the moment. One moment he works on creating chicken underneath Hermiton, one moment he tries rainbow beacon. Suddenly he decides to tour the Wither Skeleton Farm. Whatever happened to his Guardian project? And Mumbo is absolutely out of ideas. He has no clue on what to do on the server anymore. He builds some random unnecessary stuff and dread about the episode next week because he has zero idea on what to do. As far as he concerns, his base is complete. And there's nothing much for him there anymore.

Awesome farm! I built this and got loads of items when I let it run overnight (about 8 hours). When I checked in the morning I was spamming a water bottle at the farm! Great video, and thanks for making it. I would suggest adding a bit more detail about how to place hoppers and droppers and such. Through trial and error, I figured it out, but not well enough to explain. One must hold "shift" to place block atop ones that are used, for example. I had trouble getting the rods to dispense, but after replacing the dropper a few times, it just started working. HERE IS A LIST OF MATERIALS for those, like me, wondering: Chests-4 Repeaters-3 RS Torch-1 Carpet-1 Hoppers-4 Droppers-2 Stone Pressure Plate-1 Cobblestone Wall-1 Iron Trap Door-1 Glass Blocks-4 Trip wire hooks-2 String-1 Lever-1 Door-1 Bucket of Water-1 Several "solid blocks" (e.g., cobblestone, dirt, etc.) and redstone dust; just bring a stack of each.

Every time I look at one of these builds for my world I test it out in creative first, I just tested this in 1.8.3 and it worked fine, it takes a second once you start right clicking on the trap door and I found you gotta make sure your mouse is right in the middle of it but I can't wait to build this in my regular world. You might want to get help from someone that knows what they are doing. I followed this tutorial that many times I can just build it from that alone. I currently use this on a 1.9 whitelist server and it works a charm for me. Maybe re-watch the video and make sure your timings are not out etc.

This has been a huge success for me. In two days, I've caught more fish than I can eat, rods, powerful bows (Power IV, Infinity I, Unbreaking III - most of them are this sort of level), loads of useful bits and pieces and numerous good enchanted books. It's an amazing farm. I've built multiple. Couple of things: 1. In places with heavy lag (many mob spawners, many farm animals) I had to switch the top most repeater to 2 or even 3, and it helped with missing throws. 2. One double chest is not enough when AFKing overnight. I had to build a chain of three. 3. On PC, I use a simple Autohotkey script to simulate holding right mouse button. I toggle it with F2. No taping of buttons, it's XXI century after all. 4. It's very productive to pair it with iron golem farm, sugarcane farm, general mob farm, golden piglet farm or just wit a standard vegetable farm (or a couple of them) and leave it overnight, though it may take some fine tuning with said repeater. Iron golem farm and sugarcane farm by nims are very light, but zombie pigmen farms are rather lag heavy.

When you hold down use to cast the bobber in the right spot (center of the open trapdoor), it will get stuck on the tripwire. Then, as you hold down the use button, all the actions will get taken up by spamming on the open trap door. As soon as you catch something, the item will go in the chest, the trapdoor will close, and everything will reset. You will then recast your bobber, all without clicking again. Took me a bit to figure this out, but it works great.

look up panda... (some arbitrary number) 's design. this design doesn't work for me either since it doesn't let you click the iron door. which is very important. pandas design makes it where the trap door is right in your face.

+KA HE all I can say to you guys is that the farm works very well for me. already got 6 mend books, 7 frost Walker books and tons of other drops. I will say this. you do have to position your self really well. not too far from the trap door nor too angled where you will miscast

Guys, Nims makes working machines. You can't say he sucks because one of his machines doesn't work. It might work for some people. (Btw, if you hold shift down too, you can use a wooden trapdoor, or an iron door, which I haven't tested, but some other people have)

+NimsTV For me, the fishing pole would be cast twice before staying there, so I set the first repeater to TWO ticks instead of three and that helped a lot. Thanks for the tutorial, BTW!

I found that changing the timing of the first/front/right repeater to 4 and the second/rear repeater to 2 works better. This is on a minecraft realm, your timing might be dependent on your latency and server/local situation. There are only 4*4 possibilities, easy enough to test. Make sure the bobber ends up in the top of the block in front of you within approximately 3 casts. There it triggers the tripwire, causing the loop to halt. When the bobber is dragged down, the tripwire deactivates, reactivating the loop, allowing you to reel in the catch.

I always AFK using the Sticky Key feature of Windows. You assign your righ-click button to the left shift key and tell Windows to keep it pressed down after pressing it 5 times. (In the accessibility options --> "make the keyboard easier to use") No more weight to put on the keyboard/mouse :)

This works great..I'm using 1.8.7.. I just built it on CubeCraft's Skyblock.. I made 1 first in single player.. Just to make sure it work.. At first it didnt... Then I relooked at the hoppers and they were set up wrong.. Fixing that solved the problem..So duplicating it Skyblock was a breeze.. Thanks

You can hold right click and then push f11, while letting go of right click. Then you can keep fishing whitout putting something on your mouse. You can even go to an other window on your computer and do something else.

NimsTV Hey Nims It would be great if at the start of the video you can say how much of each material you would need for each build or maybe put it in the description. This would make it easier for people who are building in survival since they would know how much of each materials they would need.
