Andras: Convinces me to switch to the Nimzo, saying I'll learn a lot because of the varied pawn structures and plans which arise. Me: Loses a lot in the Nimzo, because I don't know how to play the varied pawn structures and plans which arise. Andras: Makes an introductory series on the Nimzo which is the best one there is on the internet.

Really great content, and a refreshing break from the chess videos that the youtube algorithm throws at me, like "Win in 8 moves with this cheapo opening trap".

Hi, great video thank you for uploading it. At the beginning you are talking about the f3 nimzo video and I couldn't find it either, and looking at the number on each video it seems there is no missing gap.

This. If there is an f3 nimzo video I can't find it.

I love this series. I'm going to start playing the nimzo in casual games to expand my black repertoire against d4 I'm not afraid to face it on my level - probably because people play it poorly. But it's so venomous. To be honest, I didn't like playing against qc2 because of trading the bishop for the knight and no doubled pawns. But this shows how that queen move can cost white a lot of time which they can ill afford against a fast developing nimzo. Outstanding content as usual.

In the Anti-Nimzo stuff, might be worth covering 3.a3 as well, it's a bit lame, but it does rather put the stopper on any kind of nimzo stuff, and is useful against QID type stuff as well

Hello Andras. Question: How come on 7:18 in the video you take the knight as opposed to retreating the bishop? I thought you said in an earlier video that you don't want to take the knight if you don't have to. And while the knight is controlling e4, the black player is controlling e4 twice so white still can't take play e4 even if you allow the knight to stay standing. Furthermore, while retreating the bishop costs a tempo, white also spent a tempo playing a3.
@ChessCoachAndras2 жыл бұрын
Long story short: Playing Bb4 and then come home happens very rarely. In this case taking is very logical as it allows a Ne4 follow-up (which is not doable if you don't take). Last but not least the whole idea of this line is to get ahead in development, which, again, would not happen upon retreating. Chess is hard!:)
