4. Be2 is not a legal move. 4. Bd2 seems to surrender White's birthright, the initiative. Black can play 4. d4, to get into a favorable Queen's Gambit position. Notice that White's black squared Bishop is misplaced, with g5 and f4 being its usual squares. Eli D.

These lectures are good but they are too narrow. They focus on just one possible line of play. If one tries to play this way, probably by move 4 your opponent will play something else and you will be out of prep. I prefer broader lectures

I enjoyed the lecture, but I question (though I am a club player) whether the classical variation shown is really something to learn. The final position is not in my databases, and most players with White play e3 before Nf3 (a major point in the variation shown is that you draw the White queen to d4, gaining a tempo, after ...cxd4 because retaking with the bishop is not an option since Nf3 is played first in this lecture). Also, if this still happened, the queen would most likely move to the a file instead of staying on the c file later, and why would the rook go to c1? Yes, it is a great position for Black, but would you really end up there? Seems a bit like wishful thinking. The Rubinstein system dealt with here is more interesting, in my mind anyway.

I m good against e4 but facing many problems against d4 by 1600 rated players due to lack of clarity in nimzo defense this akobian really helped me
